Determine if the lamp works without installing it into a projector

I have a Epson ELPLP12 and a NEC MT810/1000 lamp, can you tell me is there a way to determine if they work, without installing them into a projector?

HI there

The only sure way is to put them in a Projector , because they might for example start up , but swith off again after a couple of minutes or seconds.

If there is no visible damage on them , they will most probably be ok.

There is a blue glow in the bottom left hand corner of the image

I have had this problem with projectors unfortunately can't quite remember the exact problem. It will get worse though as it is wear and tear. Its either a polarising lens or the lcd panel is burnt out. I have had them repaied in the past but could cost at least £300. You can buy very good spec NEC projectors for just over £200. That is new and including the lamp. I recently bought 7x NEC NP115. They are great value for money, 3000hor lamp life and new lamps are abought £120.

Hope that is helpful to you

My NEC VT660K wont power up.

Hello.

Some suggestions from NEC support:

Check that the power cable is plugged in and that the power button on the projector cabinet or the remote control is on.
• Ensure that the lamp cover or lamp housing is installed correctly.
• Check to see if the projector has overheated or the lamp has reached the end of its usable life. If there is insufficient ventilation around the projector or if the room where you’re presenting is particularly warm, move the projector to a cooler location.

Hope this helps.
