Looks like there is some problem with the stereo headphone connector. As its a hardware issue, I would recommend sending it to the service center.

You may also use external speakers temporarily.

I have HP-Pavilion- DV2000 Laptop I have a sound problem because sound not coming out from built-in speakers, headphones or external USB speakers. Drivers in device manager seems to be OK Sound play cursor...

sounds like it can be the hardware. try to uninstall and reinstall the latest audio driver then configure your speaker settings and volume settings. if this does not work, you may need to get the audio card or motherboard replaced.

I have a dv2000 unit. I upgraded to windows 7 but when I plug the headphone the speaker is also running. both speaker and headphones have sound. What to do?

Right click on your speaker icon in the lower right corner, select audio properties, you can lower the volume of the speakers when you use headphones or you can select a profile from the same screen and select the type of speakers you want to use; headphones, desktop speakers, etc.

Good Luck

I reinstalled my operating system after that my speaker disn't work

Sound is not working. Headphones would work just fine but the built-in speakers stopped working. try to update and reinstall the drivers. The speakers would sometimes work for a second when removed the headphone jack. sometimes it was a short in the jack connection or just a bad connector in the jack. Sooo, just plugg in the headphone jack a bunch of times and after about 20 seconds the speakers will work just fine.

No sound from built in speakers but headphones work

Have you checked the speaker settings? Make sure that all settings are NOT muted. One selection that is muted maybe where the sound is generated from. Such as MIDI playback. Otherwise it has to be either a missing update/driver or damaged speakers.

Res.sir, i have a hp pavilion dv2000 laptop in this laptop headphone not work

first of all check whether the port is working correctly or not. For that use any other headphones. If they are working then ur present headphone set is gone. Or else if it is also not working then goto control panel -- sound and audio devices and then go to volume --advanced and increase the volume of all the devices present there..and correctly configure Sound Effects Manager which is present in the control panel ..in that u can configure the type of speakers u use or headphones ..there u adjust it to headphone..then the job is done..
