If the DVD is not loading, that means that it could have a defective loading mechanism. I would suggest to unplug the device and plug it back in, just to reset the circuitry inside.

It you mean, it won't play; follow bestdarngood instructions to clean the lens.

If that does not work, the lens could be defective.

1. Purchase or borrow a lens cleaner disc and try it first. You can find these things really cheap at any large department store. They usually get the job done well. However, you may need to clean the lens manually if the store-bought cleaner fails.

2. Remove the outer casing of the DVD player. Remove the screws that mount the top casing onto the bottom of the DVD player and slide the top casing off. This will expose the DVD deck, which houses the laser pickup lens.

3. Find the lens. The lens will be glass and under the DVD clamp. The lens will probably have a blue tint to it. If you are having trouble finding the lens, you could shine a light on the components and watch for the reflection.

4. Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the lens. Just a quick scrub will do. Dry the laser pickup lens with the other end of the swab.

5. Give the lens a few seconds to dry and replace the covering of the DVD player. Test the efficiency of the player. If necessary, repeat the process.

Let me know if this doesn't work and we can try other options to get it working.

Thank you for using Fixya and Good luck.

Hey Ol' Fred...
One of my good friends is an ol Fred so I felt compelled to stop in and help!
I'm not sure of your setup, but if you've got a combo DVD/VHS unit, make sure that you have out puts to the TV for Both parts separately... You can designate by accessing the TV's onscreen menu and setting up a separate source for DVD and one for VHS. I've found on my projection TV that it's best to use the Coax cable connections for the VHS to TV.
Then once it's setup with separate hookups to the Tv, you should have audio and video for VHS...

DVD will load disc, repeated clicking noises, then informs me that there is no disk, and shuts down the DVD player.

Your best bet is to go to web site " ShopJimmy.com " enter your model number and see if they have the dvd mech. available. You just don't try and repair those, not only Polaroid, but all that have them 99% of the time can't be repaired. Happy Hunting!!

It sounds like your Micro has taken a dive. The only thing you can do is to take it in to a Service Center, try to get a free estimate to minimize out of pocket expense.

I am trying to program fios set top box remote control and need the code for my Polaroid TV.

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says the setup code for a Polaroid TV ( without a built-in VCR or DVD) is 0765. I can not be sure, if this number will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.

My DVD disc is stuck in my HD Widescreen LCD TV/DVD Combo 1913-TDXB. This just occurred, what do I do to get it out?

you would have to take the back off of the TV and manually(carefully) pull the disc out with a pair of needle nose pliers..if you force it too much...you will ruin the drive mech...sometimes people put a second cd in the player without realizing there is one in there...other times the dvd player just stops working because it has failed.....you may need a new dvd mechanism as i have seen the drive mechanism on these units go bad often.you can order them through Philips for about $100.00...and it's not too hard to install
