I have a problem with the HP 2210 printer which is also a scanner, fax, and copier. The printer only works directly from the computer. When I try to copy there is a message on the printer that states that the cartridge needs to be aligned. I did a test for the cartridge alignment and I try to copy and the message repeats and still can't copy. What should I do? Any advice is welcomed. Thanks. Darlene
Same problem as described--can print from computer but when I copy all I get is 2 black bars and notice re allignment.

Please do the following

4. Install Psc 2210 software and follow instructions on when to connect printer.
You may have to reset printer. Directions as follows:
Re-initialize the HP All-in-One
Force the HP All-in-One to reinitialize by following the steps below:
Turn the unit off by pressing the ON button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Wait five seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
If necessary, turn the unit back on and try fax again.
If the unit fails to read the card again, reset the All-in-One. Repeat
Steps 1 – 4, but before plugging the unit back in, press and hold the #
and 6 keys on the HP All-in-One numeric keypad. Continue to hold these
keys down for a few seconds after plugging the unit back in to reset
it. Once the All-in-One reestablishes communication with the computer,
reset the language and country/region.
I'm not sure about this specific model, but I've had similar problems with other HP all-in-ones and usually what fixes it is uninstalling and reinstalling the software (make sure to follow their directions properly and not plug the printer in until they tell you to). You should also make sure you're using the most updated software from the HP website rather than the one that came on the CD with the printer which may be outdated.
Apart from being a hardware fault, if it's working through pc and if I understand it it happens when you copy, i think it still works from the installed driver on the pc.
If it doesn't apologies as i'm not familiar with this printer, but if it is the case try disconnecting from pc and uninstall drivers.
Re-install drivers and re-connect all-in-one when prompted, see if it goes away.
