I put my phone in silent mode and locked it to prevent from accidentally calling out. But when I tried to unlock it, the screen won't even respond. I tried soft reset but the problem is still there. Could anyone help? Thank you.

if you run vista it will not recognise the drivers, you will need to download an update from HTC or from your mobile operator.
faling that check microsoft vista website for mobile device software- vista does not use active sync
I have the Touch also and love it. Its simple to turn up the volume. either using the button on the left side of the touch push up until the volume goes all the way up. You can also use the stylus pen and click on the icon that looks like a speaker in the upper toolbar. Then drag up the volume. If these things dont help choose a different ringer. Mine is extremely loud and yours should be too. Also consider updating the software.
Hi, Use the speakerphone, or earphones, if it sounds that means that the internal speaker is broken, you can buy it for a couple of bucks, but is not very easy to change, so maybe you'll need some help with that.
