Hi Green

You can fix that by spraying the controls and switches with CRC 2-26 (contact lubricant)You need to take the lid off to get at the internals of the controls, flood them with CRC using the straw that comes with the can. Do the same to any switches that are noisy also. It will be good as once again :)

I have a pioneer vsx 818 v amp, when I set it up we get noise / beeps etc from the surround sound speakers but then when playing a film in 5.1 we get no sound from the surround speaks ..driving me nuts !...

Hello,
To get sound out of your surround speakers, first off go through the receiver setup and make sure that is correct. Also, usually the best soundfields to use for sourround sound is PLII Movie or dolby digital. Next , make sure the source you are viewing is capable of outputting 5.1 sourround sound. Lastly, it is a good thing to remember that sourround speakers are only intended to reproduce sound effects. You certainly can override it so that all speakers play full range audio, but that is not the intention.
Good Luck

I am playing Cd's and have a pair of Definitive Technology- Model BP-10 tower speakers connected to my Technics SA-DX1040 5.1 Channels Receiver and while the music is playing, all of a sudden the music...

There are 2 major possibilities and since you didn't say if the sound comes back here's the general split.
1. The power amp section could be having problems and/or protection circuits are kicking in. In this case repair of the amp will be needed.
2. There is a bad connection somewhere making the audio path go bad. In this case a good can of contact cleaner applied to all switches and controls may help. If not, the bad connection may be internal. If tapping (or rapping) on the unit makes it come back, there's probably a bad internal connection.
If letting the unit cool down brings back the sound, its the power amp section.

I put banana clips on the wires and plugged them into the Insignia 200w audio receiver and everything sounds static tv and music

For temporary just for testing it ok.. but using banana clips permanently it not a good idear because due to excesive sound vibration it will create static for sure to avoid that you may have to souldering those wired in place to avoid that static and causing eventual damage inside your receiver... any conection as to be well connected special went it time to connect a large amps., beside a turn table, you may look for a good ground.... I suggest to put a solid ground wire also betwen your tv set and your receiver
for eventual hi static discharge., also make sure use a power bar for more protection ...good luck

We like to change the time in a Tuner/sound

On the right side of the front of the sound processor press the "TIMER/CLOCK" button. The massage "CLOCK" will appear on the display. Then press the"SET" button. And by using the "^&V" (UP&DOWN) buttons the day and then the hour and minute will be set. In the end press the "SET" button. And that's all.

I just hooked up my old amplifier to my turntable and started playing some vinyl. I'm getting an incredibly annoying static sound through the headphones I'm listening through, and I'm positive it's not the...

Make sure the ground wire from the turntable (they all have one) is grounded to the amp, also the turntable has to be connected to the phono input on the amp. Turntable cant connect to cd or aux. Only phono. Also check to see if there is dust and dirt built up on the needle. clean if needed. most likely a grounding issue

Only 1 channel works for both the A - B selection

If only 1 channel works for A and/or B speakers, you have an amplifier failure issue and the unit needs to be repaired/replaced.

If you have audio in both channels on A, but only 1 on B - then you need to check the connection for the B channel,

Most receivers from the 1980s forward require that to use A *and* B speakers at the same time, all must be connected.

Technics sax-710 receiver Nht sb-1 speaker developed a buzzing sound when playing, Kids may have over drove speakers(not sure) Replaced with nht supezeros now both speakers sound very staticy like off...

The speakers have buzzing sound because of damaged cones.
Over driving speakers, especially with heavy low frequencies, can tear the voice coil away from the cone.
Once damaged, only replacement will help
