Try tapping the FN + F8 (or other key that has crt/lcd or monitor) on it. Can you hear windows chimes? If you can hear the system fully boot up, but you have no video through the LCD on the system, try using the video out- or another monitor. If that does not work- there's a good chance that the video card/ video chipset on the laptop's motherboard has gone out. I would recommend contacting HP tech support if your system is still in warranty at that point- since if it isn't- as a minimum, you are looking at a fix that may cost as much or close to as much a new system.
At the back portion of your PC, there is a compartment small enough to insert your PC card. IF you can open it, you can probably check the slot if its not full. Usually, PC card slot is only good for two cards. That is also true with memory slots except HDD slot :-)
Blessings.
The second battery would replace the cd/dvd drive in that slot. Obviously you would lose the ability to play cds/dvds..The drive is easy to remove -just push on the button to the right and then pull out the drive. Hope this helps..Michael
If you have opened the case you may have disconnected the mouse ribbon cable. Its a thin white ribbon cable that plugs into a 'slot' on the motherboard.
