If you look on top of the fuser roller(upper orange roller), there is a thermistor (orange rectangle plastic that rides on the roller) you will see four wires going into that housing. Two are for the thermistor and the other two is for the fuse that is built into the housing. You would have to use a soldering iron to melt the plastic that the fuse is sitting in. You would have to figure out what to use as a fast blow fuse.

Okidata makes it difficult to take out the thermistor because the nut is locktite on the screw. Try using the soldering iron to melt it. Just make sure you dont damage the thermistor.

Disregard most of what was said above. I was able to reset my Fatal
Error 980 code on my C5800. There is only two wires coming from that
connector and not four at the bottom of the fuser. That is pin 2 and 3.
4 and 5 is still the fuse but there are no wires there, just the 2
pins. What you have to do is make a fuse by connecting pin 4 and 5
together with a piece of wire and break the wire after a few seconds
after powering up. This will reset the Fuser counter back to 100%. DO
NOT DO THE NVRAM RESET, THAT WILL ERASE YOUR NETWORK FEATURE. Here is
the step by step of what I did.

1)Take out the Fuser and lay the two blue levers flat and remove them.

2)remove the two silver screws and separate the casing.

    3) Remove the two black screws from the connector at the bottom of the fuser closest to the edge.

    4)Unravel
and loosen the wires so you can pull that connector out a few inches so
you can get a couple of wires in there. You will see what you need to
loosen to get the connector out far enough, really easy.

    5)Insert
a wire into each of the two holes on the back of that connector. Its
pretty simple to see where they go, 2 and 3 have wires going in, 4 and
5 dont which is the fuse. After you get the wires in the 2 holes, check
for continuity from the end of the wires and the terminals if you can.
Make sure the wires are long enough to hang out the case. Use the
    thinnest wires you can find.

6)Run the wires out of the case and
put the case back together and put the fuser in. Twist the two wires
together and power up the machine. As soon as you here the first
motor, which is about 5 seconds, pull the wires apart and BAM, you just
reset the fuser back to 100% and cleared the "980" Fatal Error. You
could always put a miniature fastblow fuse in instead of using the
wires but that would be tedious to me.Good luck

According to the Oki service manual that problem is related to the fuser. The reference is that there's some media stuck in the unit, they recommend replacing the fuser but it's possible just reseating it with power off will allow it to clear the code.

I followed the July 10, 2009 instructions made in the comments. After taking it apart, I realized i had some tracing wire in my toolkit, and instead of trying to connect it internally to the connector - I ran them very carefully down the outside and down the flange of the connector. This made it very easy to remove the wires after the fix was done.

OKI C330dn Call Service fatal Error:980

That particular error indicates a fuser failure. Try turning off the printer and re-seating the fuser. If this does not clear the message then the fuser needs to be replaced. With such a low number of prints warranty should cover it.

Inside fixing unit are also thermoswitch and thermistor wich can burn out, but also the fixing lamp too. You must dissasemble it and by DVM test the circuits, if the circuit is opend on thermistor, that means that he is burnd out.
