No need to have a guide to use the flash drive. just insert it to the usb port of your computer and wait for the computer or your system to detect. when the computer display that the new device is detected and ready to use double click the mycomputer and look there for the drive of your flash drive maybe drive e: or d:. but if you computer system is windows 98 & me you need to insert or install the flash drive driver.

Just plug the drive into your USB port, Windows will detect it and install the software.
Open Windows Explorer and you will see it listed as a removable device. It will probably need to be formatted first, but Windows will advise if this is needed.
After that, you can use it like it was a hard drive, just copy and paste files to it.

I was told to reformat my computer. I don't know how. Can you help?

Actually, it's not recommended without know how to do it since it should be done by a professional or by an experienced engg/tech. Well, before you decide to format, you'll need a Windows cd, if you wish to install Windows xp, you'll need a Windows XP original CD or if you wish to install Windows Vista, you'll need a Windows Vista DVD, in the same way with Windows 7. Note: Formatting means wiping out everything from your computer, usually C drive so that you'll be able to install another copy of Windows, which means you'll first format the C drive and then install a new copy of Windows, without Windows being installed, you computer will never run, it's similar to a useless or dead machine. I don't mean only Windows, same conditions apply with Linux or Mac.
If you want to try yourself following the instructions, let me give you few links, but it's not a simple and short process, and I won't take the risk if you fail (this is why I'd mentioned that it's a job to be done by a pro). Here are few links from BlackViper.com regarding Installing Windows. Follow the link/s and follow the instructions, there might be several pages, so make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page/s and click "Next Page" if you are done with the first/previous page. Before you begin, please read the full tutorial/s so that you will know what exactly you're going to do with your computer. If you can still boot up your computer, make sure all the files are moved from C drive to another partition or I would recommend backing up your computer's files.
1. Windows XP install guide.
2. Windows Vista install guide.
3. Windows 7 install guide.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

How to format Hard drive/flash drive

This is a tip explaining step by step how to format your Hard drive. This is as easy as 1 - 2 -3, so lets get the ball rolling.

Firstly, you need to know that this method can also be used with Flash drives, MP3 players, basically any removable drive.

If the drive you would like to follow is a internal Hard drive, and you would like to format it to NTFS format, here is how we do it. Remember, that you will not be able to format your C(System) drive, because, then you will delete your operating system, hence, all other drives can be formatted.

Open "My Computer" and follow these steps:

The drive shown above is your C(System) drive, If you want to format this drive, you will need to do this when you attempt a clean install of windows.

Say you want to format your flash drive, insert the flash drive into your USB port, and open "My Computer". My flashdrive is Labeled Lexar(H)

Now just follow these steps.

Now you are done, the drive has been formatted. Remember, this also works on internal Hard drives, but not your system drive.

Hope you can find this helpful.

Please rate accordingly.

Kind regards

How resstore my acer aspire to factory settings?

There should have been a recovery disk created or included when you bought a laptop. Insert disk if you have it and restart your computer with the recovery disk in the CD drive. Make sure all your documents and personal data are backed up. When the computer restarts it should start restoring your computer to the factory default. There will be a wizard to guide you through the process. If there is not a disk, then follow this steps:
1.Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.
2.Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.
3.Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load.
4.Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5.Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted.
6.Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

hope this helps,Goodluck..

Use the Windows Easy Transfer utility on 7 to move your settings/files to a flash drive. Start the program on the new one, insert the flash drive and follow instructions.

You can insert a flash drive in one of the front ports. Do not force it in - if it is the correct way up it will push in easily. Once in, the drive will register as a removable drive in MyComputer.

I have just bought a new HP Pavillion M9790A, it comes with one hard disk. I need to install an additional hard disk.. how do i do this please?

Hi,

First of all make sure what kind of Hard drive you use, It will be either SATA or IDE . To add additional HDD, open computer tower and you will find connectors are available to plugin your new Hard drive else you can follow your computer manufacturer's user guide.

The better option would be to take help from someone who knows how to add new HDD.

Thanks

My flash drive will not open, windows asks me to format it and wen i run the format program i get a message sayin windows cannot complete the format.

Sounds like the flash drive or your USB port is having problems. I would try the flash drive on a friend's computer . If it does the same , then it is the flash drive. If it works on your friend's computer, then it's the USB ports on your PC. If it is your PC, let me know. If it's the flash drive, then you need to replace it or depending where and when you bought it., it may be under MFG. warranty.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
