You appear to have your country settings/keyboard layout wrong on your settings..

Goto Start - Control Panel - Regional and Language Settings
Select the Keyboards & Languages Tab and then select Change Keyboards.

Set your default input language to whatever you have (IE mine is English - Australia)

Click Apply then OK

Delete key not working

Instead of relying on the physical keyboard to type and enter data, you can use On-Screen Keyboard. On-Screen Keyboard displays a visual keyboard with all the standard keys. You can select keys using the mouse or another pointing device, or you can use a single key or group of keys to cycle through the keys on the screen.

To type without using the keyboard

  • Open On-Screen Keyboard by clicking the Start button clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking On-Screen Keyboard.
or
Type "osk" no quotes on run...

Hope it will help you....

Shift and cntrl keys are not working .Please help em how to reslove the issue?

It might be that you have by mistake turned on the sticky keys on the system.
Sticky Keys is an accessibility feature designed for people who have difficulty holding down two or more keys at a time. When a shortcut requires a key combination such as CTRL+P, StickyKeys will enable you to press one key at a time instead of pressing them simultaneously
I would suggest you to check whether the sticky keys are turned on. Follow the steps mentioned below.
a. Click on Start and click on Control panel.
b. Click on 'Accessibility Options' and in keyboard tab make sure that there is no check mark near 'Use sticky keys'.
c. If there is a check mark then remove it and then click on Apply.
Also check to see if anything is stuck under keys - cleaning the keyboard using a vacuum cleaner (AT VERY LOW SUCTION) could help

My led indicators for caps lock num lock etc not workinh in my lenovo G570 laptop

Hi, If you are using a keyboard that is wireless im sure you just have to change the battery on the keyboard.
However if the keyboard is connected to your CPU, then depending on your keyboard model, you may have to turn F LOCK (F Lock Light on) to access system key commands if they are labeled on the front of the keys, such as num lock , scroll lock and print screen. When you click on the Flock, the lights are either supoosed to click on or off.
view the keyboard status lights by using the On Screen Display (OSD) option, Ensure you download the software ,
from your start menu do a search for your keyboard, on th key tabs setting,
its important to make sure that the correct model number is entered,
double click on the light you wish to change, in the Reassign a Key wizard,
clear the Displays (key name) status on the screen check box to disable the on-screen display, or select it so that a check mark is in the box to enable it, and then click Finish.
HOPE THIS HELPS.

The character keys and numeral keys dont print only make a noice when pressed

From your query I interprete as they key is not displayed in the screen. First check with the external usb keyboard. If the external keyboard is also not working, please check the keyboard layout in the control panel regional settings. If the external keyboard is working well, change the laptop keyboard.

Certain keys just won't respond and one of the keys (the h key) brings up a drawing box. The "h" key is not programmed to do that. The computer brings up a screen message overnight relating to a keyboard...

Pressing the '?' Menu soft key displays the soft key section of the HP enhanced keyboard control panel on your screen. Click any of the keys on the screen to display the action assigned to an individual key or to change or assign an action to a key. Shortcut keys are provided specifically for user-defined actions. I hope this helps

I have a hp laptop model no dv 2046 tu...the problem i m facing is that my keyboard's ctrl key is stuck...whenever i press any key....a combination of that key wid ctrl is is taken...example....if i press...

This solution is for Windows XP.
If you see no physical sticking, then you may have "Sticky keys" on.
To look to see what your "Sticky Keys" Settings is at do the following:

In "Control Panel" double click "Accessibility Options"
A new window will pop up. The first tab is "Keyboard".
The first box at the top is "Sticky Keys" make sure that is unchecked.

"Sticky Keys" can be automatically turned on if you hold down certain keys for a predetermined length of time. Usually a box will pop up asking if you want to turn it on.

Thank you.
