I had this blinking for awhile then on steady. Would not print so I replaced the black ink cartridge thinking it was out of ink. But the light is still on and the printer will not work. How do I know if it is out of black ink or color. ? Do I need to change the color now as well? I don't want to make a mistake as it is expensive to keep changing if not needed.!
On my C62 I it usually shows the "Status Monitor" when trying to print, which shows the levels for B/W & Colour.
If not go to CP/Printers, select the C62 (make sure ON) then Properties, then the Printing Prefs button (at bottom). The Main tab usually has this fill level indicator; also try the Maintenance Tab Status Monitor option. These are real awkward to find from scratch but useful when you get to know they're there.
Also if you remove and replace a cartridge you are usually given the option to say whether it is a new or old cartridge - choose new if you know it's nearly full. Don't take NO for an answer to their stupid questions!!!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

First off, if you touched the metal contacts on the printer or cartridge, you could damage or leave a film on the contact surface. Take it out of the printer, with a qtip dip in rubbing alcohol, squeeze out access, rub surfaces, air dry, and reinsert again. If still no ink, turn the print end up under the very hot water tap and run for 2 minutes. Dry and replace. It may do the trick.
If the ink light is on steady red, that means the black or color ink cartridge is nearly empty. Obtain a replacement black or color ink cartridge. To know which cartridge is out of ink, check the ink levels using EPSON Status Monitor 3 (Windows) or EPSON Status
Monitor (Macintosh). If you just replaced the cartridges before you got the error light, that means that the replacement cartridge is not recognized by your printer. Please reseat cartridges. Then turn the printer on and off. The cartridges maybe bad also. If the paper light is on steady red, try to reload 10-20 sheets of regular paper into your printer. When printing on CD/DVD, CD/DVD tray is not inserted in the printer. Insert the CD/DVD tray in the printer and press the paper button.Could also be that the printer has loaded more than one sheet of paper at a time. Load paper in the sheet feeder, and then press the paper button to resume printing. If the CD/DVD guide is open, close
the CD/DVD guide, load paper and then press the paper button.
Blinking drop light on HP6122 signifies an ink cartridge is out of ink. There are two cartridges -- color (larger of two) and black (smaller of two). Blinking drop light only indicates either, but not which. HP6122 service software and print driver are available from HP website http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=83027&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us. HP6122 service software has a printer maintenance utility which includes ink cartridge monitor. Use the maitenance service utility to determine which (or both) cartridge is out of ink. With cartridge replacement, printer should automatically print test page, then reset and be ready for printing from your computer. To clear printed documents from print que, open the HP6122 print que via control panel > printers > double-click on HP6122 driver to show que > select document tab > select cancel.
Remove all the cartridges and the paper from the printer...Power off the printer...unplugg the power cable from the back of the printer...while printer is unplugged from the power..press n hold the power button for atleast 60 seconds then release it..open the back door of the printer and look for any paper jam...remove paper from behind (if any) and roll the rollers in upward direction from behind..close the back door and connect the power cable to the printer and power on the printer..Look for the cartridge slots and clean it wid a lynt free cloth and the copper contacts of the cartridges as well...then insert only one cartridge (black or color) and close the cartridge door and check for any blinking lights on the printer...similarily repeat it with the other cartridge..by this u wud get to know if any cartridge is faulty? If u get blinking lights on the printer ...that means there is some problem,,,
Once you see the steady green light on the power..it means the printer is ready..You can also print a test page..."Press n Hold the power button down...while holding the power button down...either press "Down Arrow button" 4 Times OR "Red X button once"...then release the Power button to print the test print..
If it prints ..u r the master !!!
Best of luck
Remember if there is any blinking light,,the printer wont prin..
if the light blinks around the drops..it means there is cartridge issue and you may even replace the cartridges..make sure u remove the pink tape carefully before inserting the cartridges.
The light you describe is the ink light. When that light is blinking, try this.
Turn on the printer. Open the front cover and look at the carrier for the ink cartridges. There is a white arrow right above the latch for the color cartridge. Once the carrier stops moving, the white arrow should be pointing to a symbol which represents the problem (the reason the light is blinking.) Examples are low ink black, low ink color, sick black ( replace ) , sick color ( replace ).
IF you have just replaced your black cartridge, you might need to replace your color cartridge too. This printer will not work without both ink cartridges installed and full. You cant print with a full black and an empty color cartridge unfortunately, even if you only want to print black.
not sure w/ this one, but is it blinking too fast on printer, the check color and black ink cartridges? and if yes what is the color of the light, is it yellow or red, and is the on and off lights, flashing? -black and color blinking fast - install printhead -black and color blinking slow - no cartridges installed -on and off blinking black and color steady lights, calibrate
>the green light is just your power light, if it is glowing, its on, if its blinking...its receiving a job/replacing cartridge/charging cartridge/or cleaning heads >the red light being constant on is any of the following... -ran out of ink, ran out of paper, or has a paper jam.
hope this helps.
PS: re-manufactured cartridges can not always be trusted...some companies accidentally send empties...simple mix up im sure,we're all human after all, but be on look-out.
Red flashing light on '8BK' small black cartridge on left hand side.
If this indicates 'low ink' then it is not alerting me on the monitor. I think this is something different because my printing has been interrupted. Aileen
Your info is slightly conflicting - I think.
As I remember the C60 has just 2 LED's:
1 - Green for Power
2 - Red for Error
The third button - Cartridge exchange - has no LED
Now it is a while since I looked at a C60 and my brain leaks like a sieve, but that's the way I remember it and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
The error codes I remember are:
Printer status - Indicators - Priority
Power - Error
Power ON condition On -
Ink sequence Blink -
Ink Cartridge change mode Blink -
Data processing Blink -
Paper Out *1 - On
Paper jam condition *1 - On
Ink end (Black) *1 - On -> Blink
Ink level low (Black) - Blink-> Blink
Ink end (Color) *1 - On -> Blink2
Ink level low (Color) - Blink-> Blink2
Ink end (Black and Color) - On -> On
No Ink Cartridge (Black or Color) *1 - On
Maintenance request (Ink Overflow Countererror) *1 Alt Blink Alt Blink
Fatal error *1 Off On
Special setting Blink2 Blink2
