    • First press: enter the first character from a set of characters related to this button. Each subsequent press: you may change the entered character to the next one from this set.
    • 0: enter the space.
    • 1: enter a special character (punctuation marks, etc).
      • Up, Down, Left, Right after pressing 1 (special character entering mode): select the required character.
  • ENTER: confirm selection; finish text entering.
  • SUBTITLE: enter the period (for numeric mode); functions like button 1 (character mode).
  • CLEAR (<-): delete a character to the left of cursor.
  • SELECT (cap'num): switch input mode:
    • abc: character mode, small latin letters.
    • ABC: character mode, capital latin letters.
    • 123: numeric mode, digits.
  • RETURN: cancel the text changes and finish text entering.
  • Left/Right: move the cursor one character left/right.
  • Up/Down: move the cursor to the start/end of a text line.
    • If the cursor is already in start/end position: select another user interface element which is under/over the current text entry area (only for dialogs with several elements of user interface; text changes are confirmed automatically).
  • POP UP MENU: show context menu with a list of available commands. They allow you to cut, copy and paste text using the clipboard, much like it is done on a PC.

How do I change the name and fax number on the top of my outgoing faxes

The software that came with the printer will have a "setup" or "settings" icon. You can change it there.

If you can't find it or never installed it you can delete the printer software and re-install it and you can start from scratch with the new information you want.

I have a motorola v545 and want to turn off the predictive text help!

Go to messages, new message, go to the menu(middle button) select entry options/method/settings, go to primary and select TAP English, go to Secondary and select None.
Text-Entry Methods:
iTAP - Lets you enter words using one key press per letter. The iTAP® method combines your key presses into common words and predicts each word as you enter it.
TAP - Lets you enter letters and numbers by pressing a key repeatedly to cycle through the letters and number on that particular key.
TAP Extended - Same as TAP, but cycles through additional special characters and symbols as you repeatedly press a key.
Text-Entry Modes:
Primary - You can set your Primary entry mode to any iTAP or TAP entry method.
Secondary – You can set your Secondary entry mode to any iTAP or Tap entry method, or you can set it to None if you do not want a Secondary entry mode.
Numeric - Enter numbers by pressing the number keys.
Symbol - Enter symbols by pressing a key; its symbols are displayed at the bottom of the screen. Scroll to the desired symbol and then press Select.
To set the text-entry mode or method:
  • From a text-entry screen, press Options.
  • Scroll to and select Entry Setup or Text Setup.
  • Select the desired text-entry mode or method.
Tip: From any text entry-screen, you can quickly change your text-entry mode without leaving that screen. Press the # key repeatedly to cycle through the text-entry modes: Primary, Secondary, Numeric, and Symbol. With each press of the # key, the mode indicator in the upper left of the text-entry screen changes.

When I text I get an underline and I can't get anything but the first letter of a 3 letter set on the keys

You must disable your Predictive text option, T9® predictive text mode allows you to type words with only one keystroke per letter, and the phone interprets what word you want. For example, to type the, press 8, 4, 3. To enable/disable T9® predictive text mode, select Options. Scroll to and select Prediction on or off.

Can i turn off the qnotes feature

    Hi,
Your messages are set to 'word' and you want it set to 'alpha'. If you have your user guide this info is on page 45. Here's how to do that. If this helps plz rate this as 'fixya'. If you need more help leave a comment & I'll be happy to help. Thank you kindly.

You can enter text into your phone using the traditional method of pressing a key several times for each character, or by pressing a key once for each letter while words likely to be the one you want are chosen from a database. You can also enter symbols and numbers into a text field. In screens that require you to enter text, you see the following icons. These icons tell you which text input mode you are using: When you access a screen that requires you to enter text, you start in the mode last used.
To choose a text input mode: 1 At a screen that requires you to enter text, press m. 2 Select the text input mode you want to use. A checkmark appears next to the current mode.
