Question about GE JVM1650 1000 Watts Microwave Oven
Our 20 yr old GE JVM64 undercounter microwave quit microwaving today.
The light and fan still work, but there's no digital display, so I'm wondering if there's a fuse somewhere. Owner's manual shows nothing. Any ideas??
Hats off to your 20 year old GE machine. That is the the longest lasting microwave I have heard of. When they finally go out, they are done, there is nothing left to even do with them. Most of the parts are obsolete. However you might find a appliance store that still has one similiar to yours in their backroom that they use for spare parts for those like you who might need it. You might take it to them to see if it is worth repair.
I can say this, after 20 long years, the machine will cost more to fix, and for what you will spend on repair, you can buy a different one that can also be energy effiecient.
