Ok after reloading windows the drivers used to control your Sound Card are missing.

1. click start then click on run

2. in the Run window type devmgmt.msc , hit ENTER

this will bring up the device manager window , the devices which are attached to your computer but not instaled will appear but will have a yellow question mark or exclamation mark on them.

3. right click the sound device and click on "update driver"

4. A wizard will now run , when asked do you want to connect to windows update click Yes, (only if you have a woking internet connection) or click no and on the next screen insert the installation disk which has your sound card drivers on it and choose to install software automatically.

if you dont have the install disks or a working internet connection do you know the model of the sound card ? , is it intergrated audio or a seperate sound card ?

Thanks!

Check if your sound card is onboard you need to install the sound card or audio driver from the motherboard driver. Right click the MYCOMPUTER then click properties, hardware, device then look for sound with question mark or multi audio device , if you found it's means that the sound driver is not install. Run the motherboard driver and select the sound driver and run setup and reboot the computer after installing

  • Remove all USB attached devices like drives.
  • To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC, open case, and remove all RAM. Test one DIMM at time, one slot at a time.
Re-install Windows. Clean install works best, but all data will be lost.
  • Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Upgraded windows 7 from windows xp pro on gateway profile 5.5, but cannot change resolution. All icons are huge.

First of all Un-installed/format it your system and re-installed windows 7 and see it happen again or not? May be, while upgrading your windows XP to windows 7 some file may be left over so while running your OS (operating system) file cannot read properly.

thanks for using FixYa Good luck

REALTEK REMOVED MY WINDOWS SOUNDS!!

Solution:

best sol: go to start button ----->click RUN----->Type devmgmt.msc in Text Box ----->

Device Manager windows appears , click on Sound, video and game controllers(+),
if you see "Realtek AC97 drivers"(if they are visible...) then we can make sure that sound                     drivers are loaded in ur system, otherwise you have load it again.....

                                                          or

i) my best advice would be, dont mess up with installing, reinstalling, uninstalling sound drivers rather try   to format or reload your OS again(Windows XP) and then install drivers.

ii)  try to check volume on your speakers, volume in windows or system , volume in media players sometimes they may set to mute of no volume.......

iii) try to check all sound physcial connection that run from your computer to speakers, including power connections, cable connection ....or just remove and replace them(reseating...)

iv) try connecting a headset to your sound port, sometimes your subwoofers or speakers may fail.....

Thanking You

No sound devices on my sony vaio VGN-CR322H laptop

Pl check the whether all driver from OEM have been installed including MB and try to reinstall the driver it should work fine. or reinstall the SP2 for win XP. then install the OEM driver again, this should work, else there might be hardware problem.

I have an eMachines T3616 with Vista on it and want to change to XP-Pro. Vista is just too darn slow. The problem is the drivers. Any ideas? TYIA, Russ

i think the only problem you encounter is about the sound driver. Because the other driver is plug and play for the other devices.
Open the link below and download the realtek audio driver.
Good luck....
