Damaged USB Port

Ok I think the best method to "Fix" this would be to get your self a 4 - 5 port USB card, they are, real cheap, insert it into a spare slot, inside your PC, and install the drivers, if any, and use that one. And simply ignore the other one all together.

Wireless keyboard & mouse will not connect

Would try going into the device manager in the control panel and make sure that the usb dongle is being identified correctly by windows. Also, would unplug any other usb devices so that they are not interfering.

'USB device not recognised

Hi Peter,

Try this solution. Just follow this step to uninstall and reinstall the USB drivers. I am assuming that you have a Windows OS.

1. click START
2. right click My Computer (an icon of this can also be seen on the desktop)
3. left click Manage
4. Computer Management will appear
5. look for Device Manager and click it
6. on the right panel, you will see Universal Serial Bus controllers
7. expand that by click the plus (+) sign next to that
8. delete everything under that by highlighting each one of it, then on the keyboard, just press delete
9. once finish with everything, just reboot the computer

Let me know if this works.

I have a cordless keyboard & mouse my desktop will not recognise it

Use a USB keyboard and mouse first. Go to the Control Panel and look for the Bluetooth Devices icon. Delete all BT devices from it. Turn on the bluetooth keyboard and make sure that you see a blue light. Then Add a device from the Bluetooth properties. Click "My device is ready to be found" then hit Next. Once it detects your keyboard just choose "Do not use a passkey". It should be able to detect your BT keyboard. Do the same thing with your mouse.

Please rate this if it helped.

Mouse and keyboard not working / recognized by computer

Hi,
If its an USB keyboard and mouse, try to insert keyboard in upper port and mouse in lower port USB.
Sometimes when they Both are inserted in port in same line, they are unable to Fetch equal amount of power.
Try this and do restart your computer, after inserting them in USB ports. All the Best

I'm hooking up my Memorex wireless keyboard and mouse. I hooked up the two pieces coming off the wireless receptor to the computer and now I can't get the mouse and keyboard to work. Do I press the button...

There should be a connect button on both the receiver unit that is plugged into the usb port, and on each device (Mouse, and Keyboard) you will have to press all of these again to reconnect the devices to the computer.
