Washing machine not filling with water. already tested water source. it runs. hose clear. worked this morning and now doesn't. someone unscrewed the hose from the water source and put it back on earlier today for another purpose (borrowed the water source for something else), and now the washer will not fill with water.

The IE or E1 error or fault code indicates that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve
If you are trying to use the machine manually, there needs to be enough water in the machine to tell the level sensor when to switch off the water inlet solenoid valve. Failing this, the machine will only show IE (Inlet Error) and refuse to work.
From time to time washing machines fill with water on its own.... one of the things that can cause this problem is the drain hose being too low, this allows water to run from the sink back into he drum filling up the machine. To cure simply..
raise the height of the drain hose........
The solenoids in the valve were sticking either because of sedement in them or them being faulty all together, which is likely the case since you said the screens were clear of debris, my advice is to order a new valve because the problem will happen again, its a matter of when
If the washing machine won't fill up, make sure that the water supply valves are turned on. Next, make sure there are no kinks in the supply hoses that run from the supply valves to the washing machine. If nothing is obstructing the hoses, you may have another controls issue.
Several of the washing machine controls are also responsible for the washing machine not draining, continuing to fill or filling too slowly. If the washer doesn't want to drain or stop filling, the issue could be the pressure switch. When water enters the machine, water also fills a tube in the pressure switch. When the air pressure reaches a certain point, it triggers a switch that will stop the machine from filling. Locate this pressure switch on your machine and look for damage. If you have a multimeter, use it to find any electrical issues. If there is no reading, the pressure switch needs to be replaced.
Fyi. All new washing maching already tested on their functionality and features but not test run with water intake and drain function. I would like to share My experience last time with this model. The water outlet valve will release by motor when you set to drain mode.it suppose manage to retract back by spring when drain process finish or afte small you change to wash mode. Take a look on the spring movement.normally it not properly hold valve switch hence the retracted spring not block the valve to stop water drain. Just rectify the alignment of the valve swich which directly connected to the retractable spring.
Hi and welcome to Fixya. The water vavle has a piece of foreign debris stcuk onthe internal diaphram. You can possibly clear this by removing one of the hoses at the wall connection. You will have to turn off both hoses at the wall initally. Place the removed hose into a bucket of water . Then turn on the one that is still connected to the wall. Place you machine on WARM wash and start filling the machine. GENTLY use the HANDLE of a screwdriver or hammer and tap the water valve at the hose connection. Let the water run for about 1 minute. Now stop the filling. Reverse on the wall hose connections and repeat the procedure above for the other hose.
If the problem does not clear you will have to change the water valve or take it apart and clean the diaphram.
This machine has a water valve that works on vaccuum from the tub. You will see a small clear hose that runs from the side of the tub up to this valve. This valve is adjustable to change the water level in the tub to desired setting on some machines, but if it goes bad, it will not shut off, thus overflowing the tub. Find this valve and replace it if adjustment does not work.
pull the main drain hose up to the level of the contol panel you should here water drain out.
make sure the washer is turned off.after you raise the drain hose restart your washer and see what happens.is there water over flowing out onto the floor.
filling and never stops and never agitates? then check level switch and hose, any hole in the clear hose to the level sw can cause this. if airtight then replace level sw.
First check the filters in the inlet hose and hot water pressure.
Sounds to me like the hot water valve is faulty.
Test the w/machine on a hot water cycle, if you hear a noise and its not filling it up with water, its a faulty hot water valve. Air pressure??
change the water valve and remember it has a little rubber boot on the old water valve,
transfer this to the new valve,or go into option adjustment mode and change you wash temperature settings.
