If the card is in the pc do this: Go to start>right click on my computrt>click properties>click on the hardware tab>click on device manager.Click on the + next to ethernet adaptors. Your device should be listed. Right click and click on uninstall. After it's done go the top of the same list in device manager and right click on my computer (or it may have a name if you gave it one). Click on scan for hardware changes. It should find your card and instakk the drivers and tell you it's ready for use. If this fixes your problem please rate this as fixed. If not, don't rate yet and add a comment sayimg you need more help with this and I'll be happy to help you out. Thanks.

Sure thing that your aspire m5640 comes with a cd, look for the cd that has a label "aspire m5640 driver and utilities" it has a driver for video card, LAN card, sound card etc. right click my computer then choose proterties and click the hardware tab and click the device manager button, you will see the ethernet adapter right click that adapter and choose proterties then click the update driver. make sure you inserted the cd first. then just browse on that cd it will should automatically find the driver for you ethernet card.

Ethernet controller driver

If you currently have internet access on the computer, use http://www.3dpchip.com/3dpchip/3dp/net_down_en.php

or there is a all-in-one that you can download and perhaps put on a flash drive and open it on the driverless computer. It contains tons of drivers and automatically finds the one you need in there.
http://www.3dpchip.com/3dpchip/3dp/net_down_en.php

I have used it before to install drivers to access the internet on a new computer. Of course you will need a computer with internet access, but since you posted here, I assume you do.

Recap:
1. Download
2.Put on flashdrive
3. Drag to desktop
4. Run the file on the Acer Aspire

Although I have used it with great results, I take no repsonsibility, yada yada yada

Nvidia nforce network controller

google translated
engo deshabilitadad wireless network and can not find the drivers windows7 teengo is a acer aspire 4520
Your Acer computer has a networking card installed so that it can connect to a wireless local area network (LAN) to share files or surf the Web.
By using a wireless network, you can bypass the need to run cables between different rooms in your office or home.
To set up a wireless LAN, you will need to change settings in the computer's operating system and use the eNet Management software that Acer provided.

Connect an Ethernet cable to the "Wide Area Network" port on the back end of your wireless router.
Attach the other end of the cable to the Ethernet port on the back end of your high-speed modem.
nsert the installation disc that came with the wireless router into your Acer computer's disc drive.
Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Access the Acer's Start menu and open the Control Panel.
Click "Network and Sharing Center," and then choose the "Set up a new connection or network" link.
Choose "Set up a new network" and then "Next."
Enter a name for your local area network, such as "Home" or "My Network," into the "Network Name" text field.
Type a password for your network in the "Security Key" text box and click "Next."
Click "Finish." Right-click the "Acer eNet Management" icon in the Windows task bar.
Scroll to "Available WLANs" and then click the name of the network that you chose earlier.

Type in the password you chose earlier and click "OK" to connect your Acer to the Wireless LAN.
You only need to check the BIOS if you cant install the driver
Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to
press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys navigate to integrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its
"Enabled"ima

I accidentally deleted the file with my ethernet driver. How can I reinstall?

You can re-download your Ethernet driver here:

http://support.acer.com/drivers_download.aspx

Just choose your Acer model and find the correct driver. Once you've saved it to your computer, go into the Device Manager, find the network card (it will probably say "unknown" or "unidentified" if you don't have the driver installed) and re-install the driver for it. Then you should be good!

Acer sees router but won't connect. It will not

do the system restore and that should resolve the problem. system restore is the process which takes the comp to back date configuration when everything was working fine.
alternately also you can uninstall the verison access manager update. check the updates by going to prog and feature in control pannel. click view installed updates and right click to uninstall.

Browse to ACER's web-site, and select your specific model of the Aspire line, and select Windows XP, and select network-controllers, and download the device-drivers, and copy them onto the memory-stick,.
Walk the memory-stick to your Acer, and install the device-driver.

First thing to try, is to do a system restore. You can go back to an earlier time. Pick the lastest time right before you installed the updates. System restore should be found in the Control Panel.
