Hp 6515 won't print black

The printhead on the 6515 is not designed to be serviced/replaced by the customer. If Sean, from HP, actually took a look at this HP printer, he'd see that. The problem is likely the cartidge itself, or the inkfeed to the printhead.
Make sure:
1. The contacts on the cartridge are clean. (a little scraping helps)
2. You can draw ink from the bottom of the cartridge (touch the outlet with a paper towel
3. Lastly, and what HP won't say; is that the ink system plugs up easily if you leave a cartridge out of the printer, or you run the printer with a depleted cartridge. That said, the situation can sometimes be remedied. There is a little mesh screen (filter) below the cartridge (visible when you take the cartridge out). If the ink drys in that mesh, there is no ink flow. Dab it gently with a Q tip moistened in hot water. It may take several tries. I had to use a little (very little) alcohol to get the screen unplugged. (This can be problematic if you use too much alcohol, so attempt this as a last resort).
Do a 'clean' operation in between attempts. It worked for me.

I have reinstalled the printhead several times it still says it is missing the printer is brand new

If the printer is "brand new" it has a warranty.
Either call the place that sold it to you, or the manufacturer.
Don't void the warranty.

My Canon mx850 says the print head is incorrect

It's highly likely that the printhead is damaged or has fallen out of alignment.

Unfortunately the Canon printheads can, when dying fry the printer they are installed in.

My advice would be to contact Canon support as soon as possible and request a warranty replacement of your printhead. In the mean time I would recommend removing the cartridges and printhead. Put the orange caps back on the cartridges (if you still have them) or some electrical tape to keep them from drying out while you wait for the replacement printhead to arrive.

It's also worth checking that at the back of the printhead carriage, there are all the little copper contacts in place... There's a lot of them but sometimes these can be bent or broken off from poor manufacturing or handling. If any of these is missing you should request a warranty replacement from Canon for the whole unit.

Hope this helps.

Display says printhead not installed or loose

Make sure when you put it in, you are firmily pushing it towards the back of the printer, until you hear a loud snap. When you put it in the first time, DO NOT put the ink cartridges in. Close the cover and wait until it tells you that the ink cartridges are missing. If it is still telling you that the printhead is missing, it should be replaced. You may contact kodak support @ 1 800 421 6699, and have them help you to replace it, free of charge.

The printhead is not for sale.

IF after replacing the printhead you have the same problem, then is the printer the one that needs replacing.

Will not print in black

Try running the printhead cleaning utility on the printer a few times. Sometimes if you do not use your printer enough, the ink can clog the printhead on the cartridge. Another thing you can try is to use a cotton swab with some alcohol on the printhead to try to loosen it up. The alcohol trick is a last resort because it may damage the printhead occasionally. Good luck!
