The space button on my motorola q is very stiff on one side of button

The space button is very stiff almost as if it is jammed on one side of the space button. Still works, however afraid it will eventually get stuck or wear out...only had a month

I don't think this is a problem, but you may try blowing some compressed air into the keypad. Remember to hold the canister of compressed air back to the chemical that shoots the air does not get into your phone.

How do you turn off speaker on Motorola VE240? Also, is there a way of lowering the vibration sound and taking off missed called tone?

You push the button with the circle on the left side of the phone (looking at the display) below the volume control buttons and below the headphone jack.

Motorola Z10 "right soft key" seems to be locked as a short cut to the O2 wap side and there is no way to change it.Could you please tell me how to change that key to be short cut to the Contacts???

This is o2's fault - the firmware (the software that controls this kind of stuff) is o2's version and they have disabled the option to change the function if this key - although you'll notice the manual says you can!

The only option is to change the firmware to the unbranded version that would come with a phone not bought through o2, which is easier on other motorolas, the symbian operating system is notorously difficult to tinker with

I dont have enough space to explain phone 'modding' - but you can have a look at modmymoto.com. Although I will point out that so far, it seems the stock (unbranded) frimware is not available anywhere

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows. Paul Sager 2335 Solutions July 14, 2010 I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q. What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence. This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware. The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.) If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times. My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone. I hope that helps.
