Replacing uhp lamp and remove ballast with Xenon lamp and 55W ballast!

You are going to ruin the optics using a Xenon lamp. The ballast in the TV talks back via UART to the CPU. By removing the ballast the TV cannot talk to it and run itself properly. Also using a xenon lamp will give terrible color reproduction as its not putting out nearly enough lumens in the right spectrum. It will also bombard the color wheel and DLP chip with UV light and ruin those as well.

I have a Suamsung tv HL T5675S Blinking lights all over. How can I fix that?

Hello, lets try this solution.
All LED's blinking , indicate that lamp does not light. Check the lamp, is it broken ?, or not installed properly.
Check ballast lamp too , is it work or not ?. Its a simple way to check the ballast lamp. Unplug the lamp, than turn on the TV set. If you hear sound like high voltage from ballast, that mean OK. The problem just from the lamp.
Replace the lamp.
I hope that will help you.
Thanks.

Panasonic PT-61DLX76-K TV, no picture, red lamp indicator flashes once every five seconds. Bulb looks okay visually. Panasonic says bad ballast I need confirmation and service manual.

Hello.
Lamp should be replaced in average every 2.5 years. Bad lamp could look OK but it is not.
Replace the lamp first if it is older than 2-3 years. You have to do it in any case. If new lamp will not
work, only then you can start thinking about ballast replacement.
If you are OK with the screwdriver and you have technical skills you don't need service manual to replace ballast. You will need to remove rear cover and locate it near the lamp. It is not too hard.
Regards.

KF42WE610 bad lamp... and ballast?

Hi,
DLP Lamp has electrodes inside and ballast generates high voltage that makes spark on these electrodes thus got high bright light. New lamp wont die due to bad ballast so replace lamp and see tv works or not.
This tv has self diagnostic feature, turn On tv and let it shut down, now check standby light that would be blinking in specific order, for example 3 or 4 times blink then pause for 3 seconds and again blinks.
Let me know how many times standby light blinking in this tv to help you with more info.
Thanks.

My tv will not power up. The light comes on and then goes off.

What is Wrong with TV? Have you replaced Lamp? If so and still no picture then it can be Ballast Board it connects to Lamp Box , Ballast is what turns Lamp on Call Encompass 1-800-638-3328 or Mats 1-800-628-1118 and you can also look up Parts on E-Bay!

I have a Samsung 61 inch DLP tv. Was very happy with it for the past 3 years. Lamp went out in Feb. Got a new one and replaced. A few weeks ago, it started making a screeching noise. Fans were ok,...

It is b.s. but it's not only samsung that have poor reliability. At least they have some customer service. Some new brands are a nightmare. I would suggest changing the ballast first, and if that doesn't do it, you're probably looking at a dmd board which is very expensive. Only other thing I can say is to try removing and reseating the lamp switch again. Also listen for the color wheel to start up a few seconds after you push power on. Color wheel is started by dmd board, lamp is driven by ballast.

Lamp will not light

At first i was thinking the ballast had gone bad but after reading a few other post i think it would be best to call pannasonic..
others forums read:
ballast had gone bad. Panasonic no longer makes these ballasts so mine needed to be rebuilt at the tune of $400.00.

With the ballast in place still nothing so now they claim that they need to order a "kit" from Panasonic which basically is all the components of my tv.
