Zune deleting songs

Hi, I just suffered the same fate you described but in ever greater magnitude. I put over 10,000 songs on my 80gb zune and I just recently plugged into my pc and for some reason it removed 5,000 songs! I have "sync" set to manual yet it always wants to sync. I suspect it removed songs before but I just didn't notice. Obviously this instance was too large to not notice. Out of frustration I have wiped my zune clean since it is easier to put all 10,000 back on than to try to figure out which 5,000 are missing. Any thoughts on making sure this thing doesn't decide to make executive decisions on its own again?

I need a physical owner's manual for my Zune 80GB. I want someting printed....not just software that requires you to have a computer hand.

Yes it is due to the zune software not being able to locate the songs. make sure they are available and keep trying. also the zune software constantly search the internet to update your music information and album art. it will automatically update the songs on the zune when you connect it

I download songs onto my computer that I want to ...

I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed. You'll need the software in order to interact with the Zune device, it does not work as a "mass-storage device" like some other media players.
The Zune software will find all your music. Open the software and on the top left make sure you're in the "Collection" and then "Music" category. Then click on the right hand side on the "Songs" tab. You'll see all your songs on your computer. Connect the Zune and wait a few seconds and in the bottom left hand corner of the software you'll see your device connected.
Click on one of the songs and then press "CTRL + A" and all of your songs will be selected. Click and hold and then drag one of the songs to the little icon of your Zune in the bottom left and then all of your music will sync to the device.
Hope this helps.
