A very faint laptop display is the result of a burned out CCFL light in your LCD panel. It is a mostly non-replaceable part. (very difficult repair). To use an external monitor right click on your desktop then go to the settings tab and change your display properties to dual display mode.

Droped my compaq presario c700 after then display come snow and too many line i already chek my ribon its ok have any soluation

Please connect your laptop with an external monitor (LCD or CRT) by using VGA cable, and check it is working fine or not, If it work's fine we can confirm that your Motherboard and graphics are OK, and you may want to change your Display only, If the secondary display behaves same, It will be a Hardware problem... you may have go to service center..
Please rate me if it is valuable, Thank you

Right clicking on desktop, no graphic option for external monitor is coming up on presario 700c win7

Just right clicking does not always call up the second monitor option.

You should select "screen resolution" after right clicking

Then ensure there are two moinitors available.
If not check all connections to the second monitor inc the cables.

Make sure that the multiple display option is set correctly too eg extend these displays,
OR duplicate and NOT show desktop on display 1 (or 2)

Also check you have the latest drivers installed for that model.
DO NOT RELY ON THE MICROSOFT DRIVER UPDATE !
Go to the Compaq site and get them from there !

I recently turned my c700 on & there is a thin horizontal line thru the middle of the screen with the screens picture split in 4 of the same start up page,& won't go back to 1 single...

Seems like an issue with the display.
To confirm it take the system in safemode and check also take the system to BIOS even in BIOS the same line is there then the issuue colud be either with the display or with the motherboard.
To confirm it try connecting an external display and switch the display to the external monitor and if still the line is comming in the external display then the issue is with the motherboard else the issue is with the LCD

Periodically the screen is captured by horizontal lines completely across the screen. Cannot access programs or even shut down properly. Any suggestions. Presario 700 laptop using Windows Vista. Thanks

This issue is due to the malfunctioning of the screen or due to any other internal hardware malfunctioning of the notebook.

To further isolate the issue, I request you to connect the external monitor and check.

Once after connecting the external monitor, please tsp Fn+F3 Switch between the display and external monitor in the following order:

Display
External monitor
Display and external monitor

If the external display is fine then the issue either could be due the malfunctioning of the display cable connector between the screen of the notebook and motherboard or due to the malfunctioning of the screen.

As this the hardware issue, Please contact the nearest repair center to get it resolved.

My f500 cannot display on its own screen but can display on external monitor why?

Hi,

Usually you have to perform a keyboard toggle to switch screens. I'm not too sure which it is but hold down Fn and press F keys from F4 to F7 to find out which is the correct keyboard combination.

I got a new power coed and now the screen on my laptop is green and fuzzy

check if its the monitor/lcd or the videocard is the one having problems, try to hook a known good external monitor. if it has the same bad display, its the videocard. if it has good display, then the lcd/monitor is the part you need to replace. also try different adaptor and see if problem persists.

Screen still faint after changing module and screen

Which "module" did you change. The Inverter board is causing the "faintness" Replacing the screen will not fix it.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
