Why does it turn off after turning on?

Check the lamp status. If your projection lamp is old it may draw too much current or the output may be too low. Either way the projector's controller orders it to shut down as a safety precaution to prevent damage. It is easy to replace the lamp. I bought one for about $90 on Amazon. When you replace the lamp, be sure to vacuum the two fans that supply cooling air. One is a squirrel cage, and the back-up is a pancake fan. If either of these fans doesn't turn easily, they need lubricated. This will also cause an immediate shut-down, since over-heating is a major safety concern. If the fans and lamp are in good working order, it should run fine. Hope this helps.

I have updated my WD60C9 after changing both the lamp and circuit board. Why does my TV Power off after a min

Sounds like cooling fan is not supplying enough air to the lamp. When it gets too warm, the controller will perform a safety shut-down. Clean and lubricate both of the cooling fans. One is a squirrel cage type and the other is a pancake type. Make sure the filters are clean and all dust is vacuumed from the lamp chamber. Make sure both fans turn easily. Regards.

Replaced bulb, now tv comes on for 1-2 minutes, goes funky and turns to a red light on power.

Possibly replacement lamp is wrong power, size, type, etc., or may be defective. Try another lamp. Also, clean and vacuum cooling fans and filters. One fan is squirrel cage type, the other is a pancake type. Lubricate each fan with a tiny drop of Z-Max or other light oil on each motor bearing. Regards.

Message says airfow blocked, turns on for about a minute then shuts off

1. Remove the air intake filters on your DLP projector. As explained by InFocus, a manufacturer of LCD and DLP projectors, each DLP model will house the air filters in a different location. However, for most DLP projector products, the filters are accessible by unclipping a simple plastic latch.

2. Wipe the air filters with a small cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol.

3. Blow compressed air into the unit's vents. This will force some internal dust out of the DLP projector, but you may still need to open up the unit for additional dust removal.

4. Unsnap the main cover from your DLP projector. Because DLP projectors need periodic lamp replacement, the main cover is rarely secured with screws or bolts. However, if the DLP projector's cover does not snap off, then you'll want to inspect the unit for possible screws or an alternate release latch.

5. Reach in and remove visible dust globs with a paper towel. Be careful to avoid touching the lens, as fingerprint smudges can diminish DLP projector image quality. If you accidentally smudge the lens while picking out dust blobs, wipe the lens with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth.

6. Spray compressed air into your DLP projector to remove any lingering dust particles.

7. Close up the projector and reattach the filters.

Mitsubishi wd 62527 has very dark picture changed

Clean the small front projection mirror. That mirror can get dust on it and will cause the projected image to appear dull and dim and cleaning that mirror will usually restore the brightness and crisp details in the image.

can you take some pictures of the optics and send them to me ? this could be a circuit fault or a defective run from the manufacture, you will half to identifie whether it is optic or circuit related, try and place a piece of color filter opaque paper between the optics and try to notice the changes on the screen this may give you an indication which element may be faulted, or if it is electronic

Air filter message and cooling fans

There are actually 3. If you are looking at the back of the TV with the panel off, there is a big one on the right next to the silver lamp box. Just to the left of it is a black square tube that the lamp shines into, there is a fan attatched to the bottom of that black square tube, the third is further left from that tube, attatched to the powersupply and mainboard cage. You'll be able to see that one easily enough. Don't use compressed air, it just blows stuff around. Use a vacuum with the brush attatchment to clean what you can. If you don't have the back panel off, you won't mess anything up by removing it, just take out the gold screws and you'll have decent access to all the fans. The second on will be a little tricky to get to. Don't fumble around with the vacuum hose, be careful and you won't accidentally unhook anything. There are no actual filters beyond the black plastic grating on the outside of the TV. If you need more help, I can email you photos.
Good Luck.

Mitsubishi WD-62527 replacement lamp install and brightness low

as i previously posted, my picture was dim, muddy looking after replacing lamp with osram lamp. i fixed mine by taking the screen off and cleaning the small mirror. it had a thick layer of dust on it, cleaned with a microfiber cloth. no water, no glass cleaners. i also used a very fine new small paint brush and dusted the projector lens which also had a dust film. brightness, contrast and clarity returned!

Vcr has started to eat tapes. Put tape in starts to run then stops.

I did not have a problem with a projector tv-it was a vcr. I took it apart-cleaned the heads and used compressed air to blow out the dust.
