I am having a problem with BOA's download range, to QIF file. This worked
fine with Money 99, then when we installed Money 2000, it would put all the
date in the web page as text. We talked to BOA support, and they said that
we needed to redo the QIF file definition. So we deleted it, and reserted a
new QIF file definition, and now in IE it says that it cannot read the data
from the website, when you click on download range the second time, after it
displays the data range for you.
So I installed Netscape, and it had no clue of what the file was, and saved
it as a HTM file, even though the File type for QIF is still on the machine,
and then I changed the extension to QIF, and imported it fine. Has anyone
else had problems with Bank Of America download range stuff before?
I just found this newsgroup, and don't have a way to search back through
history of articles.

of any file that is not defined within Explorer. At least the East Coast
Bank of America does not. I do recognize that they still have not merged
all of their computer systems into a single interface and depending upon
which one of three separate former banks, you might see differences.
The actually file name that appears to be downloaded is
xactiondownload.qif. Which I have had no difficulty directly opening (or
saving to disk) from within money. It works for me both in explorer or
netscape. I have netscape set up to use mnyimprt.exe to open the file
directly.

INTERNET EXPLORER change it to a .qif file after download. Also this is a
ENCRYPTED page to you must let INTERNET EXPLORER save encrypted pages to
disk.
This only works for INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 on Win/95/98 and Win NT.
Bank of America does not support Win/2000 and INTERNET EXPLORER I think this
is because of the Win/2000 does not like a remote internet session trying to
sent .html files with remote command to create a file on your computer. But
the bank must use .html to keep the data encrypted. (If you need to download
install Netscape 4.7) and leave Internet Explorer as your main browser.
(***** Do not try to remove Internet Explorer if you want a working
computer)
Please follow the instructions below to configure your browser properly for
QIF downloads, if you use INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0x:
1. On the Windows 95 desktop, Select My Computer
2. Select View... Options
or for Windows 98 view Folder Options from the Menu
3. Select the File Types tab
4. Select QIF
5. Select New Types (if the qif extension does not exist)
6. Press the Edit button
7. The QIF file type should be configured as follows:
Description of type: QIF
Content Type (MIME): application/qif
associated extension: .qif
Actions: Blank
8. The "Always Show Extension Box" should be checked
9. The "Confirm open after download" should be checked press OK , option
dialog box is still open press OK
10. Click the Advanced tab.
11. Ensure the following box is NOT checked: "Do not save encrypted pages
to disk."
12. Restart your browser and it should be configured correctly.
Once you have configured your browser please follow the instructions below
to download your transactions.
1. Viewing your selected transactions in the Transaction History screen.
2. Click on the Download Transactions button and you will see a screen with
the following options:
Download:
1. All Posted Transactions (Within the last 45 days)
2. A specific date range within the past 45 days.
Select the type of download you would like to perform and follow the on
screen prompts.

the list on Jan 25 and 26. I am including the information from the most
pertinent posting at the end of this message. Basically you need to go
into internet explorer and set up the association for gif files. I tried
it and it works correctly. The directions are:
Go into explorer... NOT internet explorer. Select
Tools->FolderOptions->FileTypes
Now go down the list until you find one that shows extension QIF.
Then Edit. *Check* "confirm open after download". Presumably after
downloads, you will get a pop-up rather than auto-launch.

Alternatives
1. Alternatively, you could delete the entry from the list if you do
not want that application to automatically be associated with QIF
files.
2. In Netscape you can right-click your link and take the choice
"save link as".
3. From Money try clicking to open BOA page in default browser. Then
right-click on the link to the QIF.

access my Calif. BofA versatel account is to go to the BofA site, download
the qif file for various statement and/or date ranges, and then to "import"
them into MSM2000.
I have four accounts at BofA. This is a pain. Judging from the
documentation, with some banks evidently MSM2000 will simply go to the Banks
site and download all the information needed with a single click. Is there
a better way of working with BofA. I called BofA support, and they told me
that what I was doing was the only way I can do it.
What banks are best integrated with MSM2000?
I would appreciate and group and individual response
