Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player
Ok, i plugged in my ipod for over night to charge and the next day i had a weird smell coming out of the bottum of it, i listed to it and it died in less then 30min then i plugged it in the next day and woke up to a blank screen, it wont charge or anything, i pulled it apart and accedently snapped the audio jack wires, and i smelt the batter and it had no smell to it, i put it back together and now i have a broken ipod, what should i do? and if i get it refurbished at bestbuy will i have to pay a fee
I'm pretty sure you have a broken logic board and broken audio jack at this point. The board seemed to have a short which is sometimes caused by 3rd party chargers (car chargers etc.) that don't produce a stable supply voltage. Upon opening it it seems like a ribbon cable was torn. Both parts can be purchased on Ebay for a total of around $50-60, there are repair guides online that show you how to do the fix. It's going to be hard to get a warranty for this if there are signs that it has been opened.

Do you have any warranty left? Most likely battery, but unsure at this point.
