Question about Audiovox MMDV2
Recently we got a Audiovox dvd player (MVDVD4) with used car.
But the dvd player is not functioning. we opened the outer case and saw that there is a dvd inside. when the dvd is powered on, the disc is spinning fast, but its not playing. also we could not open the disc tray.
How to make it work? please help.

I also bought mine at Sam's Club. I also have only used mine on trips. Mine also has a date code of 2005. Audiovox wants $80 to fix it plus shipping. I guess they just make throw away products that only wodk for a short time!.

If it does it with all discs then the player is dying. If it is just the one disc I would say it is a bad disc. You can also see if there is dirt or grease or fingerprints on the laser pickup lens.

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.
