(Note: I have not tried this on a profile that does not have Administrator privileges. I would not expect it to work in that case if the permissions were set up correctly. Do, try it anyway, though.)

PLEASE, NOTE: * The upward pointing carat (^) indicates a space. Strike your space bar one time for each carat.

    (01) Click on the START button

    (02) Click on RUN

    (03) Type verbatim (w/out the brackets): [ cmd ]

The window will open up w/ the following path:
    C:\Documents^and^Settings\[USERPROFILECURRENTLYLOGGEDINTO]

    (04) Type verbatim (w/out the brackets): [net^user^Administrator^*]

    (05) Hit ENTER

    (06) Type in the password you'd like to set for the account (the cursor will not advance while you are typing)

    (07) Hit ENTER

    (08) Type in the password again to confirm (again, the cursor will not advance)

    (09) Hit ENTER
    (10) Click the [X] in the upper right-hand corner of the COMMAND WINDOW

    (11) Log off the current user account and log in to the Administrator account w/ the new password.

You can use this process for any user on the system - including the Administrator.
      Try this first

I can't log in to my account on my Dell PC?

Now which operating system are you running ?

Forgetting your Windows XP login details might at first seem like a disaster. Don't panic though; your login password and username are easily recovered by changing the login details to that of the administrator.

Begin with your computer turned off, and then turn it on. You will need to log in to your computer manually and this can only be done in the load-up screens. Wait until your computer reaches the Windows login screen. The screen usually displays a "Welcome" message. Press and hold the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Delete" keys two times at the Windows login screen. Your computer will automatically reveal a Classic Login box. Type "Administrator" (without quote marks) into the "Username" field and leave the "Password" field blank. Windows automatically creates an Administrator account when your computer is first booted up; in this account you can alter or change any user's login details. Navigate through the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel." In the Control Panel explorer, double-click on the "User Accounts" icon to open a new window. Select "Change an Account" in the User Accounts window and select the username you want to alter. From here you can edit the user's name and password, but you can also alter the user's picture, account type and .NET password. Restart your computer to login with your new username and password.

There is nothing on the screen and there is no place to login. I've turned it off multiple time and still the same thing I need help ASAP

Well, the monitor is saying the it is working correctly...I'd take its word for it...Perhaps the computer is not hooked up correctly to it or the wire that connects to the computer is loose at the computer or at the monitor.. It is not receiving a signal in any case. Try it with another computer to narrow down the search. Use a different cable. Check the computer setup of devices to see if the computer recognizes the monitor...troubleshoot!

Which system do you have? I think if you want to get more accurate answer you should tell others more details. But if you use reset software I think you can do the password change, no matter Windows 7 password change or password in Windows 8 change.

I have forgotten the password that i used when opening my account. please assist. thank you phill rogers

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.
