(Note: I have not tried this on a profile that does not have Administrator privileges. I would not expect it to work in that case if the permissions were set up correctly. Do, try it anyway, though.)

PLEASE, NOTE: * The upward pointing carat (^) indicates a space. Strike your space bar one time for each carat.

    (01) Click on the START button

    (02) Click on RUN

    (03) Type verbatim (w/out the brackets): [ cmd ]

The window will open up w/ the following path:
    C:\Documents^and^Settings\[USERPROFILECURRENTLYLOGGEDINTO]

    (04) Type verbatim (w/out the brackets): [net^user^Administrator^*]

    (05) Hit ENTER

    (06) Type in the password you'd like to set for the account (the cursor will not advance while you are typing)

    (07) Hit ENTER

    (08) Type in the password again to confirm (again, the cursor will not advance)

    (09) Hit ENTER
    (10) Click the [X] in the upper right-hand corner of the COMMAND WINDOW

    (11) Log off the current user account and log in to the Administrator account w/ the new password.

You can use this process for any user on the system - including the Administrator.
      Try this first

Hello everyone

If ever you forget your passwords on windows XP especially try boot the computer in safe mode by pressing F8 (tap repeatedly during start off immediately when its turned on)...and log onto the administrators account...From there go to control panel and select the user accounts option and change your password form there...Also create a reset disk to avoid problems later on when you next forget the password(which i trust you won't :) )

Good Luck

(PS if it does not work there are plenty of programs that can reset these password...)

I want to login with my pc how can i login pls help.

If you forget your password and can't log in, there is a administrator account which is visible when you log in in safe mode. just press F8 function key repeatedly when the computer boots up and it will prompt you to a number of accounts. Just log in to administrator account, go to control panel, user accounts and go to your account name and click remove password. You can now restart your computer and never worry about your password account.Hope this helps.

Our router was working until we let our grandson access the router. Now welost our SSID and our IP

Unplug your router from the computer, unplug it from the power. On the bottom of it, there is a little red reset button. Find a pen and push it in and hold it for a few minute, Then plug in the power and do this same thing to make sure that it reset. Then, hook your computer to it. Click on My computer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. When the login comes on type admin for the login, and admin for the password.

I need help to unlock the computer

There are two kinds of the password that people normally put,
1. bios password which comes immediately when computer restarts.
For this thing if forget the password then there is only thing you can do that is remove the cmos battery and place it back.
2. If it is windows login password then boot to the safe mode with networkng of the computer and there try to login with the administrator account and if you are able to login then go ahead and change the password for ur account.
3. press Ctrl+Alt+Del(all 3 buttons all the same time)at the login screen and type administrator in the username field and leave the password field blank.
