I spilled some water on my laptop. After removing keyboard and letting it dry, it seems key 29 is stuck. When turned on, my ThinkPad T60p shows error 0210 **** Key 29. Which letter or key corresponds to it? How do I unstuck it? I tried using an external USB keyboard and it works, but all the time I get a continuous beep (I guess it relates to the stuck key). Thank you

Mcdevito75 here, Yopu should be able to lift the cover off that #29 key and use a drop or 2 of penetrating oil to free up that key, not unless that button is broke in which case you"d have to replace the entire keyboard.

How to fix a laptop keyboard if you spill something on it

Okay, I will now try to explain how to fix a laptop keyboard if you spill something on it (juice, coffe,.....). Problems caused by this are sticky keys, some keys don't work,.....

First of all, don't panic! Turn off your computer immediately, and pull the battery out. Unscrew a couple of screws that are holding the keyboard, and remove carefully keybord out of a laptop. Removing the keyboard can be different, depending on the laptop model. When you remove keyboard, fill a bowl with a fresh water with a few drops of a mild detergent for washing the dishes (3-5 drops per 1 liter of water). Bowl should be bigger than the keyboard, so you can submerge keybord in water. When you submerge the keyboard, gently press all the buttons with your palm, doing this you allow water to enter inside and clean the keyboard from inside. After pressing buttons for about 10 minutes, change the water for a fresh one, this time clean water, without the detergent. Do this with just clean water 2-3 times, and when you finish, shower the keyboard, just to make sure it is washed properly and the detergent is gone. DON'T USE THE HAIR DRYER TO DRY THE KEYBOARD, AND DON'T PUT IT ON DIRECT SUN. Turn the keyboard upside down and put it on a towel and let it dry. It should be dry in about 6-8 days on a room temperature, so be patient. DON'T EVER wash the keyboard with alcohol or something like that.

This is very good way to fix the keyboard, i solved a great number of keyboards using this method.

I spilled soda on my Macbook Air yesterday. Today, two of the buttons are jammed together. What do to? Help!

You have to be gentle but you can use a tech sized screwdriver and pull the key off. From there you can clean if up a bit more thoroughly.

How to Fix Spilt Liquid on bda25ce.jpg?
You accidentally knocked fruit drink or a late night glass of milk on your laptop or your child spilled a good portion of milk directly into your keyboard. You hear a popping noise, the screen goes black. Water by itself is not as bad as milk or juice, both of which are corrosive/acidic, or coffee, tea, soda, etc.
First and most important -Calm Down and unplug the computer from its power source.
Disconnect it from the power cord and remove the battery. If needs, please remove the keyboard. The old adage - Water and Electricity don't mix - is quite true. For your laptop spilled water, let your laptop dry. Do not attempt to turn on the computer for at least 72 hours. Let it sit in a cool, dry place. If you disassembled the laptop, reassemble it after 72 hours have passed.

I have two errors appearing prohibiting the system to work

I would replace the keyboard first. You can get one on Ebay cheap. You may have cleaned it but it sounds like the keyboard has a short in it. Here is the repair manual for starters. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=migr-4dgntq. Let me know how you make out. [email protected] Phil

Turn it off remove the battery get a spray bottle fill it with destilled water turn the keyboard upsidedown over a clean towel spray the keyboard till it drips clean;meaning the drops of water are clean. When finished spraying, Dry with a hair dryer for 30 minuts on low heat let set on clean dry towel for 12 hrs Check for resisual moisture. If any repeat drying proceedure. let set another 12 hrs on clean dry towel
till dry replace battery fire that muther up
way simpler tham removing the keyboard and cleaning it.

Keybd keys are sticking

Be prepared to buy a new keyboard... Remove AC and DC power before working on laptop. Many laptop keyboards come off with the removal of 1 to 5 screws from the bottom. Some, however, require the palm rest to be removed, then a couple of screws that hold in the keyboard. Be careful when removing and replacing cables. After removing keyboard, rinse with water and let dry thoroughly before re-attaching and powering up. You cannot remove individual keys, so don't try.

I spilled a small amount of coffee onto the keyboard while the computer was in use. I immediately turned it upside down and dried it off. I cannot get it to power " on"

Don't power it on. If that is doesn't seem kind of all water proof kind. Take out the battery and the AC power supply. Turn the laptop upside down without closing the screen monitor and let the coffee be out. Dry it/or take it on a reputable shop( I may suggest).

Have it clean. Hope it doesn't fry something inside.
