Question about Televison & Video
Hi I have a 51 inch Phillips TV that is about 5 years old, It is not a wall mount, It is a full screen, any way the picture is messed up, It has a shadow to it, what can I do to fix it, It looks like it needs to be realigned, how do I fix it?
The answer is complicated. A "shadow" in the video images can mean many things. There can be a frequency response problem in the analog processing of the video signal, or a timing problem with the processing of the video signal at the digital or analog level, or there can be a fault in the display drivers or display itself where the address location is not correct. There are even more things that can cause shadows and other types of similiar faults.
You will have to take the set to the service rep to have it properly diagnosed for the exact fault. Get an estimate before deciding to service the set. Some of these repairs can be fairly expensive because of the time involved.
