Question about Dell Inspiron 2200 Notebook
My warrenty will expire in June 2008. Over the time I have had this laptop Dell has sent to me 2 hard drives for the same problem. Now it is happening again. A friend is a MCSC. He says 'boot order is correct. CMOS BIOS intermitent.' When we tried CTL ALT DEL the machine did boot. But next time I turn on the machine I get a black screen the says 'failure to boot, strike f1'. So I have kept the machine on for the past two weeks, fearing the black screen again. Maybe it is not the hard drive?! I am very low tech. Dell said the refurbished hard drives would be fine. But...?
Is there some sort of Lemon Law? Could I ask Dell for another machine? What is their reputation for helping? Can you help with this problem?
Thank You Very Much.
Ithinkthat there is nothing wrong with your hard drive. your problem is with your bios it keeps reseting so it with try to botto the default source at bootup.
may try a replacement battery fot the cmos. easy to get to it in the 2200.
