I cannot find a programme to convert video files (avi divx mpeg etc) to the mtv format used on the Hitachi help

My Coby mp601 8gb won't play the converted mtv videos, says "format not recognized", what's up with that???
Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. My Transcend Tsonic 850 can't play video. I converted my video to .MTV but it still said "No support".
T.sonic 850 only supports ".mtv" video files. You must use the "Transcend MTV Video Converter"
Software to convert ".MPEG4," ".DivX," ".AVI" and ".xVID" video files to the ".mtv" format.
This converter software should be on the CD you had together with your device.

How do we convert avi to mpeg?
The method for doing this is to use a piece of software such as WinAVI you will then be able to convert .avi files to an MPEG format. You will need to know which formats of MPEG your DVD player wil support such as MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG3, MPEG4.

Otherwise you should be able to purchase a new DVD player which will support multiple formats like, Dvix (.avi) WMV, etc, etc
