Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I get a RCA modem to run in Ubuntu Linux? The modem works in XP, just fine.

There are no drivers to operate the modem as a USB device. Using a crossover cable (one should have come with the modem), you should be able to connect to it via the Ethernet ports on your computer and the modem.

2008 printers to print wirelessly in Ubuntu Linux.

How to make 2008 printers to print wirelessly in Ubuntu Linux. So far this work around is only applicable to 2008 products with Linux support.

1. Install any 2009 Linux printer driver – The purpose of installing any 2009 printer driver is to get lxnet. Currently, the 2008 printers don't have the lxnet.

Not lexnet nor lexnet3 but lxnet...
NOTE: If you misspelled this one - you will get an error... during CUPS or during printing..

2. Install the 2008 Linux driver for the printer.

3. Copy lxnet from /usr/lexinkjet/lxk09/bin/ to /usr/lexinkjet/08zero/bin.

From terminal:
sudo cp /usr/lexinkjet/lxk09/bin/lxnet /usr/lexinkjet/08zero/bin/

4. Add wireless printer through CUPS.

URI: lxnet://<ip address>:1/
Not lexnet nor lexnet3 but lxnet...
NOTE: If you misspelled this one - you will get an error..."bad device uri" or "client not possible"

5. Thank you....

Hi. This is alot of info, but here goes.
1. Make your ubuntu up-to-date and install necessary packages.
Code:

# update & upgrade ubuntu
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude full-upgrade

# dependencies
sudo aptitude install build-essential ia32-libs linux-headers libnl-dev

# library libnl 32bit version manual installation
wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/poo...1.1-5_i386.deb
ar vx libnl1_1.1-5_i386.deb
tar -xzvf data.tar.gz
sudo cp ./usr/lib/libnl.so.1.1 /usr/lib32/
sudo ln -s libnl.so.1.1 /usr/lib32/libnl.so.1
sudo ln -s libnl.so.1.1 /usr/lib32/libnl.so
ldconfig

2. Download WiMAX Network Service 1.4.0 from http://linuxwimax.org/Download

3. Extract files from archive
Code:

tar xjf WiMAX-Network-Service-1.4.0.tar.bz2
cd WiMAX-Network-Service-1.4.0/

4. Build & Install
Code:

CFLAGS=-m32 ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --mandir=/usr/share/man prefix=/usr/local --with-i2400m=/usr/src/linux-headers-`uname -r` --build=i386
# do kung fu :)
for i in `rgrep CFLAGS\ = . ' grep -i makefile ' grep O2 ' sed -r "s/([^:]*):.*/\1/g"`; do sed -i "s/CFLAGS = -O2/CFLAGS = -O2 -m32/g" $i; done
# build
make all
# install
sudo make install

boy i hate this post when it changes things to what it thinks it should be,
try this one sir

sudo cd ./usr/lib/libnl.so.1.1 /usr/lib32/

cd is for change directory

thanks for not getting upset during this, and good luck.
I truly hope that I covered everything in it, I think I did though.

Hi i am using ubuntu linux i need install netgear usb adapter wg111v3 how can i install in ubuntu please help me

NETGEAR does not offer any offcial drivers for the adapter to work on Ubuntu as they dont support Linux OS. However, you may try third party drivers to install the adapter on Ubuntu. Try the below link:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/NetgearWG111

Hope this helps.

I want to connect a ZTE MF626 USB 3G modem to a linux system. How can I do It?

New to linux and having a few problems despite a very good tutorial here for u.

I am only seeing the usb drive with 3connect software in it - this 3connect usb drive that I can see has the windows installers and autorun files in and also has a folder called LINUXFILES which does have and .rpm package in.

I received the ZTE MF627 today from 3 UK, the customer service people and technical support all told me it worked on Linux but I was a little sceptical.

Amazingly I plugged it in and it does have Linux drivers on the USB drive - and they work in Ubuntu!

There's no instructions however, and I am certainly no Ubuntu expert but I managed to get it working in about 30 seconds. As I said though, I am no expert so you may want to get confirmation from someone else before following what I did but it is up to you.

I copied the Linux files across to my Desktop, then opened a terminal and navigated to the folder on the desktop:

cd Desktop

cd LinuxUI

One inside the folder I noticed a file named install.sh so I did something that I remembered from another Linux installation years ago, I am not sure if this is how you are meant to do it on Ubuntu.

sudo sh install.sh

That installed the drivers and the little 3 UK program under Applications>Internet>3UK.

I plugged it in ran the program and it works perfectly. I don't think you can use it as USB storage though.

have a gr8 day ahead.

USB mouse won't work under XP in a dual boot Ubuntu GRUB 1.5

It has the latest mouse driver (logitech setpoint 4.0). Before installing Ubuntu the setup worked w/ SUSE/XP using GRUB dual boot. After installing Ubuntu XP does not see the usb mouse. Even Logitech setpoint does not have the mouse setup/configuration option. It appears that at boot it does not recognize the mouse or disables it. The BIOS has the usb keyboard and mouse enabled. Currently, I have two mices one for xp and either mouse will work under Ubuntu.
