Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a 52" HDTV projection RCA tv. Lately when I use the remote to turn it on, the power LED will blink 3 times within a 15 sec. time span. The tv will never come on! I've tried NOT using the remote...but I get the same thing. The people that I bought it from said that I should try unplugging it for about an hour...and that should reset it...but to no avail. What do you think is the problem?

you must check the light indicator if how many times does it blink which tell the main problem or the error code of the tv. either the power supply doesn't work normally or the lamp need replacement.

Push and hold power button. If it cycles and blinks on/off in 3s or 9 times, it is a power problem. Replace the deflection board. Cost about 250.00

52"rca hdtv lights blink will not turn on

Thats the classic sign of the CP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors having failed. By trying to power it up over and over the caps will eventually charge and the set will function untill you power it down. You can get the CP150, CP120 and the CP114 repair kit at www.tvrepairworld.com and the kit contains the CD with repair instructions.

Liz, yes it is a power supply problem, better question is; low voltage or high voltage power supply ? count the blink code, it should repeat the code, once you have the code call your local tv shops and give them the model number of your tv and the blink amount and they`ll tell you price to fix, gl, video-tek
