Hello,

To fix this,

  1. Get a Torx 6 screwdriver,
  2. First remove the battery cover, battery and memory card.
  3. Run your fingernail around the edge of the join of the camera surround and back cover to unclip it.
  4. Now remove the two screws you can see.
  5. Now run your fingernail around the edge of the front cover to unclip it. You'll now be able to see two more screws. Remove these.
  6. Now lift away the keypad. It'll come away without much force. Again, you'll reveal two more screws you need to remove.
  7. Pull the back of the phone away from the main body of the phone.
  8. Turn the phone over. Unclip the two metal clips by the middle of the phone and a ribbon by the down left of the phone. The ribbon attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to unplug it.
  9. A ribbon attaches the LCD to the PCB. Unplug this just like the ribbon in the last stage. Now separate the phone into two parts again
  10. The ribbon you just separated is the flex you are trying to change, carefully replace it and your phone will be in good condition again.
  11. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
Take care

What would cause my car to cut off while driving?

Sounds like a power relay or breaker that is getting weak. Over time electrical components break down from heat. Without having a schematic cant tell you where to look!

My settings menu are not working, i cant asess my menu

Hi,problem can solved..What makes the menu button not functioning, is because the flex of the phone is damaged.

The flex of the phone is located inside the phone and it is connected to the display of the phone. And also controls the functions of the menu key.

The flex might have cut or might be damaged and will need to be replaced with another.

When the flex is replaced, problem solved.

Cant hear out of earpiece, only speaker

two possible causes. either your earpiece is faulty or the flex cable is faulty. because the earpiece is on the upper side, it is linked through the flex cable and if there is a cut on the flex cable, then that may affect the earpiece lines. also, poor contact of the earpiece may cause that. open unit, ensure the earpiece has contact, check the earpiece itself and finally the flex cable.

Cant swtich it on battery went flat it is taking a charge but the on /off button wont work it was tempremental yesterday but did come on eventually but today I bviously am not pushing the button exactly...

Hi,

what controls the on and off button is the flex of the phone that is connected to the board of the phone and makes it to display.

The flex is bad that is why the phone can power o. You will need to change the flex for it to be able to power on the phone again.

Have a nice day.

Starting my vacuum

Power cords are the most common culprit. After checking the fuse, plug in and switch on, then wiggle gently pull and gently push the cable about an inch before it enters the cleaner and the plug. These are the classic places for the flex to fatigue and break. If this is the case, then cutting off the last 2 inches at the plug and refitting or replacing the plug is simple. If the damage is as the flex enters the cleaner (and I'm afraid it usually is) you need to figure out how to take this bit apart. Sorry, I don't know the model, so I cant help you there.

My screen wont come on

we cant do it here, but the problem of your's is the flex, or lcd. in the center they're going to check if your flex has been dis connected or faulty, if it was only disconnected they're just going to clean it and re attach it,.but if has cut they'll replace it, and if it is your lcd,. then they will replace it too..goodluck man.!

DCR-HC32 LCD

Hi,
I also got the problem of LCD screen not displaying anything (HCR 21E). Since I am an electronics engineer, I opened it on this weeked. And saw that flex wire for LCD has two parts (a) part for touch screen (b) part for lcd display. And in my case part (b) is broken. I checked that part on Sony website and it costs 22 USD.
I am not sure, how much will they charge for repairing.
