Threading a husqvarna viking 3610

Please help! I am about to freak out! I was given a Husqvarna viking 3610 sewing machine with no manual. I cannot figure out how to thread it or the bobbin. I bought a sewing book but the machines in there are way more advanced than the one I have. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,

Jamie Heidorn

I just picked up a Viking Husqvarna 64 30 sewing machine from a pawn shop. It is in one filthy mess! I need an owner's manual so I can clean it up and get it running as it should run. I have never worked with a Viking before, and I know nothing about them at all. The information that I was able to pull off of the machine is this: front bottom tag-model64 30; bottom plate with the patten numbers says model 6000; on the bottom of the machine the numbers 4091591 are stamped in, but there is nothing to identify what these numbers are. The machine is painted orange.I don't know if that identifies a particular year or not. Thanks for your help and for the manual too. They are greatly appreciated.

This should be your machine:

Sewingmanuals.com shows that they have this downloadable in Adobe PDF format here:

#37 in the list as of me posting this. You can get a CD version too but you'll just pay more and wait longer for the same thing. Once you have it print the manual (preferably both sides to keep it small) ang you'll have it. You can also peruse eBay to see if anyone is selling a manual but I doubt that will yield regular results. The machine looks to be pretty basic and standard but it's best you have the manual to get the most out of the machine. Also be sure to check the cleaning and lubrication section and go through the process so that the machine is in top working order before you put it into regular use - saves a lot of headaches.

Husqvarna viking sewing machine bobbin

Could the part number be 4011770? I've found the Viking 7 bobbins here: http://www.mysewingmachineparts.com/top-quality-metal-sewing-machine-bobbins-4011770-husqvarna-viking/ . Another site with them is http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbin-viking-4011770.aspx . This bobbin is compatible with the Husqvarna Viking 7, 49, 51, 52, 21 & 21E . It probably will work for other machines. Sears also has them listed as 11770: http://www.sears.com/generic-viking-sewing-machine-bobbins-sewing-machine/p-SPM6124767105?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 .

I also found these bobbins: http://www.amazon.com/Viking-Metal-Bobbins-5-pkg/dp/B000YZ5QSC . The part number appears to be 1702.

I hope this helps.

Husqvarna 3610 doesn't pick up lower thread

Hi, Check to see if needle is bent. If the needle is bent it will not work well and soon it will break.
Replace the needle. Also lube the moving parts on your machine. (fine oil) sold in most sewing centers.

I need a sewing guide, basic , starting with threading

Hi! You can find manuals for Husqvarna Viking sewing machines at http://sewingpartsonline.com/viking-sewing-machine-instruction-manuals.aspx. Another place to look for an instruction manual for your machine is http://www.sewconsult.com/husqvarna/husqvarna_instruction_manuals.htm. I didn't find anything about replacement instruction manuals on Husqvarna Viking's website--BUT they have a neat feature called The Sewing Room that offers how-to-sew instructions. (http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us/3368.htm)

You can also take a look at my Hints and Tips about threading your machine.

Let me know if this helps!

Happy Sewing!

How Need to know how to thread the machine and how

They have many different models so threading and winding the bobbin can vary due to your model. I would recommend calling them at: 1-800-474-6437 and see if they can get you a photo copy of your original owners manual.

Size of stitch

Sounds like malfunction with the feeddogs or stitch length balance. Without thread or fabric, turn the handwheel and watch the feeddogs (the toothy looking things under the presser foot which moves the fabric as you sew). The amount of distance they move with each revolution of the handwheel determines the stitch length. Watch to see whether they move from front to back. It may be that they are worn out or that they are just too low to adequately move the fabric as you sew. Take to authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for repair. This is not something that can be done by the owner. Check Husqvarna Viking website for dealer closest too you.

Husqvarna sewing machine

Sorry I'm not familiar with that model but if it is a Husqvarna Viking machine, you can probably get one from an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. They should be able to order one if they don't have it in stock. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.
