Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My scanner wont come on I turn the switch on and nothing lights up I was wondering if it's dead.

Without model and make it's hard to say. First check the power and or batteries if it's a hand held model. I run into this issue with my Whistler scanner from time to time...I just remove the batteries and put them back in and it comes back.

Remove the battery for a hour. Put the battery back in. Press down at the same time and hold the #2 and #9 key when you switch it on - that will do a factory reset on almost all Uniden scanners. Then release, push manual, program, enter frequency of the local weather station and you should hear it.

My pro 94 scanner shows the code luired when turned on. How do I fix this?

I'm guessing that the display shows "wired" and not "luired." This mode, along with the code, is supposed to clear when the computer programming cable is disconnected. If you don't have a cable connected, your only option is to RESET the scanner to its original factory settings. Just a caution: resetting the scanner will erase/delete all programmed information -- you will have to reprogram all of the data that you've previously entered. To RESET the PRO-94:

1. Turn the scanner OFF.
2. While holding down the 2 and 9 keys, power the scanner ON. The message "CLEAR" will flash for about 5 seconds while the scanner resets.

NOTE: Do not turn the scanner OFF until "CLEAR" stops flashing.

Complete programming instructions are contained in the factory operating manual, which you can download and print, at no cost, here:

I have a uniden scanner they changed the codes in centre al where can i get the codes for free

If everything was working fine, and then all the activity "disappeared," your area probably upgraded and migrated to a trunked radio system. If that's the case, your BC120XLT can no longer follow the activity, and you'll need to upgrade your scanner to stay in touch with the action.
