We put in a new correction tape. Now we are unable to get any printing onto the paper, although we can see the key is striking the ribbon as it leaves the imprint of the letter. We checked the button which allows for thick paper and it is in the right position.
We notice that the impact light is not on any setting. We have used the Alt + Impact (+ and = key) as well as the Code + Impact key and the light comes on, but as soon as we release the keys, the light goes away. It does not seem to take the command.
You need to take your ribbon and correction tape out and put them in again, something may have gotten crossed. I know I have done that before. (Sometimes one or the other is put in backwards)
If this doesnt work, you may want to try re-setting to the factory settings of the machine to see if that is your problem. Turn off the machine, hold the Code, Shift & Tab key all at the same time. Keep holding them down while you turn the machine back on. You will here a few rapid beeps. That lets you know it has reset. You will need to fix your margins and tabs to your liking again.
-If for some reason you reset and you get the wrong symbols when you type, change your keyboard setting back to "I" (lights at the top left should tell you if its under "KB" (Keyboard) I, II, or III) turn off for 10 seconds and turn back on. I hope this helps!
