Question about PSC QuickScan QS6500 Handheld Barcode Scanner

QS6500 With CAPs Lock on the scanner scans correctly

I have a problem in that I need to have the CAPS LOCK turned on in order to scan lower case bar codes correctly. I turn off the CAPS LOCK and everything comes in Upper Case. I have tried disabling the case conversion but that didn't have any effect.

thanks

You can either turn the caps lock on your keyboard on OR scan the barcode in the user guide that says CAPSLOCK OVERRIDE

I am looking for a way to make sure all scans on LS4071 comes over in Uppercase. Do not want to reverse case, just everything scan in CAPS.

You can generate and print barcodes using uppercase letters. This way, you don't have to do any reconfiguration of your barcode scanner.

EVERYTIME I SCAN SOMETHING, I HAVE CAPS LOCK ON, WHICH IS WHAT I WANT, AND IT SCANS LOWER CASE. HOW DO I FIX THAT?

Do not use CAPS LOCK while scanning - the CAPS LOCK function works backwards when scanning. If you want UPPERCASE then do not use the CAPS LOCK on the keyboard.

LS4278 scanner can't read digits

Hi, try scanning French Windows barcode from the USB section of the LS4278 Product Reference Guide. The barcode is on Adobe page 147 of 414. You may also have to scan the Enable Keypad Emulation barcode from Adobe page 150 of 414, but I would do this only after testing with the French Windows setting first. I suggest saving a copy of the document before printing the barcodes just to make it easier to print. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

I need an owners manual

If your cables are connected between your keyboard and PC, be sure to set up the correct Keyboard Wedge Parameters, beginning on Page 34, to allow connectivity.
I'd start by scannig barcodes "CE" and "ZA" to reset to default wedge values. If that doesn't work, I'd procede to sc an "CF" for PC=AT,PS/2.
Pages 36 & 37 address the Caps Lock issue, where the scanned value is in the wrong upper or lower case.

Have a nice day,
