White Back ground

When I turn my camera on I get a white screen. I can see the pictures from the memory stick on the computer, but can't view them or the menu on the screen. What can I do to fix this issue?

I have the same problem, the camera turns on to a white blank screen. I can still take pictures but have to use the viewer. I tried pressing the display button but all that does is toggle between a white blank screen and black screen. I could use some help here.

When turn on camera lcd screen is white instead of show view in front of camera. might be internal shutter stucked.

Not much to go on. I hear a lot about white screens, but don't know what it looks like. Cold be the LED's on the back are lightning and no info is send to the screen. Did you try to change the settings? sometimes the screen is switched off, to save power. Press the display button several times. It is on the top of the control button on the back.
If you take a picture, do you get an image on the memory card? Perhaps you only can see it on the PC.
If you don't get an image (or just a white image) your sensor could be damaged.

I have a Sony DSLR A-300 and the lcd screen on the back of the camera goes white when I take pictures. How to fix this?

The camera has live-view, so is the LCD always white? Can you play back old pictures or view menus properly? Do your pictures turn out white or are they ok?

If it's always white and you can't see anything, you need the LCD replaced or the cable going from the main PCB to the LCD replaced. 99% likely the LCD, not the cable.

If you can playback old pictures and view menus... but NEW pictures turn out white then it's not a problem with the LCD screen at all, it's the CMOS or something else.

Without knowing more detail it's hard to say exactly what's wrong, but it definitely sounds like the camera needs repair.

The camera screen is white I am not sure if it is the lens or the screen. It fell

Most likely the screen or the control circuitry was damaged in the fall. One thing you may try to determine if it is the screen or the lens is to take a few picture and then view them on a computer to see if the white screen is replicated in the pictures taken. If it is, then you are most likely looking at a damaged lens. If the pictures turn out fine, but cannot be viewed on the camera, then the screen is the culprit.

When viewing pictures on camera and File Error shows up across the screen

Hi,
Format memory stick in camera, format option is available in setup menu of camera.
Note: all files will be deleted on memory stick after format so make sure you have transferred picture files in computer or have back up.
If problem still not solved then put another memory stick in camera as this memory stick seems defective.
Thanks.
