    1. Press the F2 key repeatedly as the computer starts.
    2. Locate the page where drives are displayed. This varies between different motherboards. Please reference your User's Guide for specific model information.
    3. Desktop computers: Refer to the Drive Configuration page (or similarly named page), or the Standard CMOS features page to identify all Optical drives that have been detected. BIOS Setup will present a table which matches drive ports (drive connectors on the motherboard) to drives detected at a given port. Example pages are linked. Reference the Product pages for the specific model.
Notebook computers: Refer to the Main page of the BIOS to identify optical drives that have been detected. BIOS setup matches a Drive Port name to a drive detected at that port. Drive Port names (left side) vary per the following examples:

        • Check for broken connectors on drive, motherboard, and drive cables.
        • Check for bent or broken pins on drive, motherboard, and drive cables.
        • Check cable orientation.
        • If available, try a different cable. If drive works with new cable, the original cable is probably defective.

How can i connect my laptop to my tv?

This will depend on exactly which model of laptop and TV. Look at the TV and determine what ports it has. Then look at the laptop for the same information. You may need to enable the external video ports in the BIOS. Turn off the computer and press F2 repeatedly after turning the unit on. (Some computers use Esc, F1 or F10. There will be a quick splash screen with the information.)

Then it still depends. If your TV and your laptop both have a VGA port, get a VGA M/M cable. (Often this is blue - it's a D-sub 15 pin connector.) This is the simplest option. Turn off the TV and the laptop and connect the cable. Then turn on the TV and set it to the VGA source (look for a button marked Input or Source on the TV or remote). Then turn on the computer; with most modern OS versions, it should set the correct resolution. You will need to enable the external monitor. This will depend on the OS. In Windows 7, right click on the display (where there are no running programs or icons) and select Graphics Properties. Then set the monitors to use the external monitor. Click Apply and then confirm the setting. Note: you'll need to also connect an audio patch cable (3.5 mm) between the laptop's headphone jack and the TV's VGA audio input if you want to use the TV speakers.

If your laptop and TV both have an HDMI port, you may be able to use that cable. You'll need to check the details on the TV. Not all TVs will read the computer's signal on the HDMI port. (The data isn't the same as from a set-top box like a Blue-ray player or cable box.)

If the laptop has a DVI port, depending on the TV, try either a VGA to DVI adapter or a DVI to HDMI adapter.

A few older laptops may have have an TV out (looks like S-video) port. In that case, you can connect to a similar port on the TV with a dongle and the cables.

For a TV with only composite or component input and a laptop without a TV out option, you'll need a VGA to composite or a VGA to component converter. These convert the RGB signal from the laptop to one that the TV will understand (component is YPbPr). See http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-video/video-converters/vga-rgb-hv-to-composite-video/c10000-c11200-c11213.html?sorter=productname-en-asc or http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-video/video-converters/vga-rgb-hv-to-component-video/c10000-c11200-c11215.html?sorter=productname-en-asc for examples.

Please add more information about your laptop and TV for additional help.

Cd\dvd burner problem

I would download the latest drivers for the burner. Make sure it is enabled in your device manager. Then, I would test the burner by creating a burnlist in windows media player, select things to burn and drag and drop them into your burn list, then hit burn and see what happens

Write speed problems with my DVD-R...PLEASE HELP!!!

alright its time to fix tis...

First...I don't understand what the check box in the drive's recording properties is asking "Enable CD recording on this drive"?????
It is another Feature that is provided for your DVD burner harware device,(you will understand indepth once you come across some thing to use that feature on Your Own)

Second...does anyone know what burning software works best for this burner????
Nero is one of the Most commonly used Burners and there are Trial Versions available for Free for you to download and use it.
besides that you can try softwares like Roxio,SONIC and ay more...

Third...is it a DLA file I need, or firmware, or do I have to do something in Windows to fix this problem????
I dont think you will need any of those because the 24X is the Max speed for your DVD burner you can adjust the Burning speed by being able to Adjust the setting from you DVD software(which entirely Vary from Software to software)

Usb ports

Does it freeze once you start to use the burning software or just when the hardware is plugged in.

If its when you use the software, try reinstalling the software.

Otherwise, try reinstalling the DVD burner driver.
