Model # GSL25JFPE. This fridge is about 3-4 yrs old. Just stopped getting
cold in both sides, its not warm, but the freezer isnt cold enough to freeze
a loaf of bread. Pulled the back off and cleaned all the dust out(there was alot)but its still the same. All the fans seem to be running, any ideas....thanks

Fridge warmed up enough to spoil food, Freezer frosted over.
Spent $300 to get the heater/defroster replaced and one week later some problem.
let it thaw completely and still heard whining noise from fan.
Saw this site and tried some of the fixes - cleaned out the grill and the fan housing behind freexer, had some positive effect. however, one week later, Fridge is warm again.
Very frustrated, looking to buy new fridge.

I have the same problem and I think the defrost cycle is not working. I took the inside rear panel off and the coils (called the evaporator coils I believe)that cool the freezer were iced up. A small heating element at the bottom is supposed to come on periodically and defrost the coils automatically. I checked the element with an ohm meter and it seems fine. I think it may be the control board but I'm not sure about that. Changing that is my next step.

Turned up both sides to max (9) but neither side is cold enough. The freezer side is working like cool side and the cool side is barely cool. About 4yrs old and worked beautifully until 1 month ago.

Freezer side isn't cold enough to keep ice cream hard but still makes ice cubes. Refrigerator side is not cold enough--milk is not cold enough and sours too soon. The coils above are clean and don't know what else I can do. Anything to adjust?

I have a GE side by side ref (GSV210) , about 4 yrs old, both the ref and the freezer is not functioning properly. They have pulled it out twice last month and reprocessed the system but still not working properly. A lot of meat got spoiled and so with the foods in the ref side. What could be causing this problem? I thought GE has a quality that lasts a lifetime!
