My Amana SxS freezer is not freezing food ... it is just cold but not freezing even it is set to max. cold. What could be the problem?

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If your freezer is frosting up, fresh food section is warm: bad fan motor,defrost drain stopped up and forming slab of ice between the freezerand the fresh food section. Check heaters andterminator(defrost thermostat) unplug the ice box and let it defrostcompletely. Clear objects from drain. Check timer. Note to find thelocation of your timer look up your model number online here: APPLIANCEPARTSPROS.COM.
Check under the bottom for the fan motor to be running and the cobwebs, dust, dirt, and pet hair, off the condenser coils. If the fanunderneath has quit then the ice box won't get cold. BASIC REFRIGERATION REPAIR MANUAL

So long as the fresh food side stays 36-42 degrees you are OK.

check the cold control or the door is not closing proper

Try turning down the unit a half knotch, 1 full knotch at MAX, the cold air comes from the freezer to the refrig(fresh food) section, its rolls up the back of the wall to circulate it

A fridge that is to cold is usually shown when food nearest the back wall freezes( i get this call plenty times a day, this is the fix)

recommened freezer temp 0-5, fresh food(refrig) temp is 32-40
