Question about Hitachi CP-X960 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Brightness Varying during operation

We just replace the bulb, but are noticing, that the brightness of the images almost seems to pulse. It may have done it before the bulb change but the bulb was becoming so dim it might not have been noticeable. I have run the projector for an extended period of time to see if it would accentuate the problem, but it doesn't seem to amplify the pulsing. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the double post, my web browser froze during posting, so I thought it hadn't gone through. The good news is that if you fix my problem you could reply to both, and have fixed 2! Thanks.

Inside all projectors is a lamp ballast that runs the lamp. It could be in the early process of failing.
This website will explain the whole ballast thing clearly. It is important that if your ballast is failing, then you get it replaced or you maybe infor another very expensive light bulb very soon.

Hope that makes your issue somewhat clearer (pardon the punn)

Unfortunately dim image is normally due to a defective lamp assembly. I'd recommend removing the lamp and inspecting its condition. You'll notice black corrosion build up or a bubble is starting to form around the filament of the bulb if it is what's causing the dim image.

The projector is not giving a bright picture. The image on the wall is very dim

I you were using the projector in the same room with the same ambient light and if you notice this problem try increasing brightness, if still the brightness is not sufficient then it is time to replace the projector lamp.

If you have moved your projector to a different place, check if the existing light / ambient light in that room is making the image look dull / not so bright. If this is the case, try to reduce the ambient light

Turn the brightness up slightly and turn the contrast on the highest setting. There may also be settings to control wether your projectin on a wall or on a screen. Make sure these settings are correct to your setup.

Proector image is dim

I have changed the bulb on my LG projector recently. I found the rotating colour wheel to be full of dust. Upon opening the cavity where the light is redirected and reflected onto the imager, I saw all mirrors also had a layer of dust. I don't think it was so dirty that it affected the brightness of the image, but I cleaned it anyway using an earbud. I cleaned both sides of the color wheel as well. You need to be careful in working with the optics of the projector!

Optoma EP732H Projector - Image is Whitewashed

Hi tourblack

I wouldn't think that this is a lamp issue , as the lamp will make the picture fade away in brightness and wouldn't look white washed.

Check if the brightness is set to 50% and the contrast on 50% as well.

This could be a colourwheel that is in need of replacement.
