I broke the black part of my key on my 2002 nissan altima. my car was running fine before it broke and i just went to start it and it wont start...could it have somehting to do with the key. maybe a sensor in it?

Yes there is a transmitter inside the black part of your key, but depending on the damage to the key you should be able to tape the key to the transmitter and it still will start.

The alarm will sound if the alarm was set before you dropped the key fob. Just put the key in the ignition and start the car, the alarm should turn off.
theres nothing wrong with the fuel pump..did you test the mass air floww sensor or have the egr valve replaced..it will save you trouble from keeping your 2002 nissan altima from dying out.
Hello . So your transponder key is broken ? If the transponder is missing or broken then the car will not start. The transponder is like a fuse in the key that must send a sig to the ecu and back to the ign system to allow vehical to run. Quinn , Arizona
replace the distributor oil is leaking into the electronics of the distributor and shorting out pull cap back off and look and see if oil is leaking out
