Yup! what FindIt_FixIt said is true.

You can usually download it. Dell makes it easy because all you have to do is look up your Service Code number and goto downloads. Other manufacurers are easy too, some are not. If you tell my your computer brand and model, and any other information, I'll help you out.

Yes you can. Just plug your usb mouse in a free port and that's all. If you have a mouse with a driver cd, insert the cd in cd-rom and install driver.

Lost bootable disk

Hello

The problem you are receiving is actually that your computer does not pick up a Hard drive. Hence, as you said you have replaced your motherboard, so i would suggest that you make sure that your Hard drive is plugged in properly with all the necessary cables connected.

Kind regards
Andrea

I have a r40 ibm laptop problem is date & time error i replaced cmos battery update bios but still problem now

Assuming that you used the correct battery go ahead and unplug and replug the cmos batter back into its connector.

Go into the BIOS and set the date and time properly. Then unplug the battery and save the changes and exit.

See if the message comes back, if it doesn't then your good to go. If the message still comes back then the motheroard isn't keeping memeory at all.

Go ahead and shut off the machine for about 15 minutes. Then only plug the ac adapter up and hopefully the message stays away. If it does then that means the battery is good and your motherboard is good as well.

if you leave it off and then turn the laptop on and that error message comes back then you need to change out the motherboard.

Computer will not start

In my opinion, if the motheroard is dead and it is an older laptop, it is now spare parts. BUT first, try another power adapter to make sure that is not the problem. You do not want to replace the motherboard with the same one, you should want to upgrade the MB. But laptops are one of a kind deals where a newer, better MB just won't fit. So after you have checked to make sure it is not something simple to fix, consider a newer laptop.

HP Pavilion laptop will not start up - screen is blank

HI,
Most likely is Motherboard, but sometimes re-seatting the CPU can solve the problem. also check the computer, has,nt been put into sleep/hibernation or standby mode.
First i,d remove the memory, and if it,s got 2 sticks of RAM, try with 1. Could be faulty Memory. Next would be to remove CPU, and re-seat with new thermal compound. failing this, you can assume motherboard fault.

Thankyou For Using Fixya.

Reboot maah hp for hp dv6405us

Hi Ash,
1. Check the CD drive and remove any CD inside.
2. Remove any USB drive from the USB port.
Your laptop could be configure to start up from CD, USB, or Floppy Drive before the hard disk.
