Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer

Ford contour 1999

My car heating died and my mph and rpm guagues went to zero the lights dimmed and I could not accelerate correlctly. I had the battery checked and it is fine. The battery light stays on and my car still starts. what is wronG ?

Have autozone, or advanced auto check your altenator for proper voltage. You could be getting good amps to charge the system but the regulator in the altenator could be going bad and causing it to spike in charge or not push out enough voltage at all. This is normally a free test. Also, you may need to check the battery terminals for corrosion.

Could be the pump or rack and pinion. Pumps usually whine real bad before dieing(especially when turning). The rack can blow a seal and die all of the sudden.

Check tire balance, outer tie rod ends, inner tie rod ends, ball joints, CV joint bolt torque at hub, and control arm bushings. You will find your problem some where in this line up. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

I have a 99 ford contour , the check engine light is on however when taking it to get odes the scanner would not work. The car also sputters and seems to misfire when accelerating and also shakes at...
You more than likely need spark plugs and wires. If the fuse is blown for the cigarette lighter the code reader will not power up.

Brake lights work on 1999 ford contour but are very dim
if they are working,, but are dim try checking the ground wire, most likely the ground wire is loose and not making good connection and that will cause a draw on your lights..

Start with changing the alternator. If it continues after that try to find a used computer from a wrecking yard. The ECM/computer is very expensive at the dealership and your local autopart store can't order them.

2000 Ford Contour Acceleration Probs between 40-55 mph
Transmission was initially misdiagnosed as being ok. The problem was the "range sensor", which showed up on the transmission shops diagnostic computer on a second look.

Replacement of the range sensor solved the problem. This was a $150.00 fix. Unfortunately a lot of other cash was spent because of the initial miss.

check the engine ground wire (grounds from the engine to the body.) I had this problem on a ford ranger.
