Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player

1 Answer

Re-building library I've had my Zen V Plus 4gb for about 6 months; use it 1-2 hrs most days. 2 days ago it said 'rebuilding library' while I was trying to listen to it. I had to power it up 5x to get it to finish. Yesterday it quit in the middle of a song & wouldn't power back up OR take a charge from the 120v ac adaptor. Today it is accepting a USB port charge - and said 'rebuilding library' when I first plugged it in. Why does it keep failing?! How can I make sure I'll be able to use it for an important conference later this week without incident?

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

My ipod is facing with Rebuilding library

When you dried it off with a drier did you have the unit completely appart at the time? It sounds like you might not have dried off all the water. If you don't get all the water out it will stay there for a long time causing problems, and after that you'll end up with corrosion at which point the unit becomes virtually garbage. Also, one other thing to remember is the danger of too much heat. If you applied too much heat with the drier it could have damaged the electronics. At this point I would take the unit appart and blow it out with some pressurised air, then stick a new battery in and do a hardware reset if it allows for it in the software menu. It might even have a tiny reset hole on the outside.

Zen V plus can't detect by the computer & all the data base losts

Suggestion: uninstall the failed portable device in Device Manager.
================================================
Note: You should already have the application for your portable device installed on your computer before continuing.
1. Go to Device Manager and make sure that your portable device is not reporting any problem. If it is, uninstall it.
2. Reconnect your portable device. The computer should detect it now.

Zen frozen

Go to recovery mode, and do a disk clean up. If that doesnt work, then you might have to format it.

Did you reset it properly? To reset your zen, put a pen head in the hole under the power button for 20 seconds
