Most common causes are a failed power switch, motor, or fuse. If the fuse if blown, there may be a short with the heating element or the motor.

It could also be the heat safety sensor, is the screen covering the fan blocked? This needs to be cleaned regularly with a small brush to maintain the cooling of motor through the airflow.

If the charging light illuminates when you plug it in, the charger is fine. Sounds more like your battery is dead

Try the fuse in the plug, other than taking it apart and checking for power into the clipper you may need to send it away for clipper repairs!

Low power even after having it plugged in

If the shaver is old, it may be time to replace it. All rechargeable batteries slowly lose their ability to hold a charge after a period of time and eventually become useless. It's impossible to know how long that will take, but if it's a few years old, chances are that's the issue.

If it's not very old, it could possibly be a problem with the charger itself. The only way to check that is to try another charger. It may be worth taking back to wherever you bought it.

I live in South Africa and my son has brought back a Panasonic shaver from the USA. Can our std 220v power outlet be suitable to charge the shaver? The power pack only mentions 120v input AC?

If the power supply that came with the unit says only 120V, you must use a voltage converter with the unit. If you plug the charger into your 220V system without a convertr, it will damage the charger

The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, does this model support multi-voltage charging ie. 100v - 240v? Or is it only 100-120v?

Welcome to Fixya,

According to the manual of The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, use only the cord and charging stand that was provided. Also you just have to plug the adaptor into 120V AC outlet.

If you want to know more about your Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, just click here for the manual.

Hope this will help you and answered your question.

No power to motor. plug o.k.. power to plug o.k. all of a sudden just quit working.

Make sure you have power going into the circuit board on the cable terminals, you need to measure the voltage from the circuit board and the resistance on each armature segment as these can blow the circuit boards.
If the circuit board is faulty you must check the armature before replacing,

7526 twist cord and razor speeds up

Based on the limited info provided, it appears you have a rechargeable razor that you plug in to recharge.

I had this occur with an older shaver I had years ago. The suspected issue is tha the battery isn't fully charged and the razor is running on battery power while the cord is plugged into it and the power outlet.

However, the cord is making a loose connection at the razor or has a broken conductor in the cord. So and what is happening is that you arfe getting an intermittent power connection that allows the power to run the razor, which would be why it seems to "speed up" as any rechargeable product always run faster/better when connected directly to an electric power source.

You can look at the plug on the razor to see if the pins/connector is loose, and also carefully check the cord to see if shows signs of having been sharply kinked or bent at the razor plug end or at the power plug end or along it somewhere.

It could be as simple as replacing the power cord. Or you may have to take the razor apart to repair the charging socket at the razor to resolve this issue.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

How long to charge cordless battery for Oster Power Pro Ultra

Usually it is recommended that you leave it plugged in to charge a minimum of 12 hours before you even use it. Then, once you unplug it to use it, keep it completely unplugged and use it until it dies completely and shuts itself off. Then, and ONLY then, plug it back in and charge it again for a minimum of 8 to 12 hours and do not use it while it is charging! Once you've passed the 8-12 hours, you can unplug it again and start using it again. After you do that, you should be able to use it for a few days before it dies and you will have given the battery a "memory". After that, you don't really need to have it plugged in more than a few hours to fully charge after being drained. It's always best to let the batteries fully drain and shut off before plugging back in to preserve it's life.
