I can't find mention of a maximum storage capacity for memory cards for this camera but, given that it only has a 16mb card provided then it is highly unlikely that a 2 GB card will work. I have had this problem with a Nikon camera - tried using a 4GB card when it could only handle a max of 2GB. But don't throw away the 2Gb - it might come in handy if you decide to upgrade to a digital SLR at some stage. If you do that make sure you know what cards it will take.
Hi,
If you go into the menu on the camera there should be an option to erase the memory card fully as well as format the memory card. Both of those options will wipe all photos off of the memory, hope this helps =)
It sounds like you've purchased a SDHC card. Your camera can only take SD cards. The HC means High Capacity and it is a completely different format than the older cards and is not compatible with older equipment.
For nearly every device on the market, it isn't possible to upgrade. However, check with your camera manufacturer just to be sure.
the only wayi found to make the card accepted is to upgrade the firmware software, this can be downloaded from fuji website, and extract the file and copy it in the initial memory card supplied with the camera, then put bnewly charged batteries or ac adapter and on the camera holding the disp/back button. then it will show the option for the update, and then click ok . after installing ne firmware switch of the camera and put the new xd card on the camera and format the card. this will enable you to shoot inthe new card.
press menu and go left or right to setup. Scroll down to format and follow along to format (initialize) your new card. If that new card has an "H" or "M" before the size printed on it, it may not be compatable with the A340 unless an upgrade is performed (firmware upgrade). This can be done by Fuji, or you can do it with help from their website, under the support section.
a340 needs a firmware update from fuji to work w/xd cards that have a h or m on card-should work ok w/older cards-check mem card and update camera from website to make compatible w/new type card
