My Toshiba Satellite M65-S809 Laptop will not turn on! However it turns on randomly sometimes when i toy around with it, but that happens rarely. I tried removing battery, and cable to take out the static,...

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, For you to be able to isolate the exact problem, try to removed the battery and connect the laptop directly to the power outlet and then turn it on, if nothing happens, theres a possibility that the problem is with the AC adapter or the problem is with the DC port on the computer itself,it maybe loose or totally broken, If its the DC port itself, you will need to replaced the Motherboard or lets just hope that its just the Base Cover that needs to be replaced...

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

Certain keys are not working like h f g all on the same row

hi,

try to do a system restore gong back to the time that its properly working, that's the way for you to be able to isolate if its a software or the hardware itself. Once youre done doing system restore and the keys are still not working, that means that the problem is with the hardware itself, most computer manufacturer usually replaced the whole keyboard of the laptop since there is no part no or available part for just a particular key on the keyboard.

Hello, I am trying to fix some of the non working laptops at my Agency. One of them is a Toshiba Satellite a70-s256. At start up, it sounds like the computer is firing up but there is a blank screen.

Its possible that you have a faulty monitor. To isolate or confirm that its the screen, get a VGA cable and plug it into a stand alone monitor. If you see anything then it must be the laptops wiring to the screen or the screen itself.

Thanks!

Toshiba Satellite L300 shuts down when ac power plugged in

How about this step, try to turn off the laptop itself. Remove the cables and battery just like what you did before, then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then, reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop and then turn on the computer itself. If the laptop restarts, shuts down or freezes with the AC power cables, two things that you should seriously consider. It might be the power cable itself, AC cable port or the circuitry going to the motherboard. And since you have cleaned out the fan and heat sink, you have isolated that problem. Have you plug-in another power cable on your laptop? If yes, then check if it works. Otherwise, the main issue is that the AC port is loose or the circuitry of AC adapter going to the motherboard is not not working. You can re-open the unit and check the circuitry from the AC port going to the motherboard. You may check the circuitry from AC port to the power supply if it is ok. If symptom persist, please contact your local dealer...

Black screen power light blinking not green but color orange

It sounds like your PSU is defective. If you replace your PSU it should resolve the issue, this is quite common with some toshiba power supplies. The flashing light is to let you know the battery is empty or the system is in hibernation. Hope this helps,

I need drivers for toshiba satellite ps190u

Hi Alialzain,

I presume you're after a driver for the power supply unit ? The best place to check for this would be on the driver CD that originally came with the laptop, or failing that from the supplier of the PSU. If it is not on there (and I'm not sure why you would need a PSU driver ?) try investigating on the local Toshiba website for drivers in your locale.

Hope this helps
